Yea. It rained all night.  Surprised it was only 1.0-1.50" around here (so far).

Wantagh mesonet recorded 1.15" so far.

More storms in PA and associated clouds will likely keep a lid on more 90s today.  Beyond today M-T look very hot (park maybe be too wet now).  Tue night / Wed AM looks widespread storms.  More Southerly / humid flow with ridging offshore spells stalled front, warm/humid and wet Jul 21 - Jul 27.  There are some hint WAR builds west the very tail end of the month/early Aug.

Continuing to look like the first time at EWR and NYC  since 1963 that the July high temperature occurred on the 1st without a tie later in the month.

Me too, significant rain overnight with some crazy heavy downpours and long, rolling, booming thunder with frequent lightning. I'm kind of surprised that local weather stations didn't record more rainfall than they did though. Closest mesonet is 1.01 and a WU station has 1.5.

Loud thunder woke me up a little after 6am, but the storm missed me just a shade to the south. Only sprinkles here. One Piscataway station just a few miles away from me reported a half inch of rain. Frustrating for it to be so close. We really need the rain. The ground is bone dry and I was hoping to not have to water the garden today. Hopefully this next batch of rain moving into western Jersey won't miss me to the south as well. Looks like a close call with my area being near the edge again.
