June 2018 Discussions & Observations Thread

A no warning flash and bang stroke here at 1:46pm.  Only one so far (still just that one stroke and a little rain-2:10pm)   Light rain.

In playing back the radar, it seems these cells evolved 'in-situ' about 12:15pm around the area.   Maybe a 'sea breeze front' caused  the lifting needed.

Yeah the thunder and lightning has ramped up here just a bit in the last few minutes, the storm is starting to move south of my area now.

Absolute deluge here with the storm cell that is moving in.

Doh, come south a little, have a large area new sod down put down last week in the backyard, would like to avoid putting out the hose in multiples areas for today.

Edit: Sigh as they missed me, the hose it is in a few unless something new develops.

Record high for ISP ahead of the next backdoor.

Temperatures reached the mid and upper 80s in a lot of places today. Islip (MacArthur Airport) reached a record high for today of 89 earlier this afternoon, which broke the record of 88 set back in 1989.

Next 8 days averaging 66degs., or 3degs. BN.

It is another hot start at +7.8, but should be Near Normal or less by the 11th.
