Snow/icestorm Jan 8-9 Disco

While everyone has been engrossed with the blizzard this week, another event is quick on its heels. There’s questions of phasing or not , but a warning event is on the table . There’s another one after it late weekend, but one at a time. Let’s get some discussion going .

I see the WC tonight is already talking about this next event, with graphics showing the progression of the system from the GL and OV on eastward to NE.  Plenty of cold air still in place and will be hard to scour out.  Should be fun, add to the pack, lol.

GYX says possible liquid late week, not snow in NNE

Yep. It's over for awhile starting late week. It is what it is.

It's over just like the Patriot's dynasty and the relationship between Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick.

So we get our January thaw mid-month rather than 4th week.  And the "rainer" a week out doesn't look like much of anything.  After that, back to seasonable temps, meaning cold since bottom of winter temps here come 1/21 and several days before and after.

Never looked liked a phase to me.

And I'll take the under on a general 1-3".

Modeling slowly increasing qpf each run. Monday PM / night will be quite wintry

Are we taking that mixed precip seriously or is that likely a thermal issue with the model?
