Box ain't buying any of it. Latest map shows less than an inch south of the Pike and Newburyport maxing out with 3".

That's exactly what they should be forecasting right now. You don't blow up your forecast based on an 18z NAM run.

Enjoy the snow, all!  I'm living vicariously through the New England forum, especially Maine.  Good stuff and great pics. :)

Here in the NW suburbs of Chicago, we haven't seen any snow since December 15.  Pretty crazy...

18z GFS is definitely SW with H5 through 24 hours....but this really isn't surprising considering how far north the GFS has been. It has been the northern outlier so far.

Yes Brian,  This is what is going to happen.  SE NH Mass and SW Maine will jack but we will get our dependable 6-8".  Take it and run.  That's the trend this winter.  Why change anything now!

seriously? Looks like Brian has about 30" OTG

It's going to take a lot of trending and several model solutions to show big hits east of the immediate coast before BOX bites. Way too much bust potential in calling for more than an inch at this point. I personally think that is still the most likely outcome outside of extreme NE MA. Still we can hope - at least there is an outside chance of something more now.

I do like NWS Gray mentioning Maine folks should clear out vents etc due to CO poisoning.  Was just telling my students about that risk today (not for us...but we were introducing them to compounds)

People with heat pumps on the side of their house should shovel around them too. the poop vents on top of the house should be cleared so the plumbing works properly and secondary exits should be kept clear.

All I want is 6-inches.  Is that too much to ask?

It would have to depend on who you ask.......

Yep, it's time to shovel off the deck. I almost can't see the grill anymore.

Yup. I was clearing my MILs roof yesterday, not because of collapse chance (her fear) but because her sewer vent pipe was buried

Have fun. Just took 6-8' of snow drift off the SW facing side of the roof, I'm gassed.

I wouldn't put a lot of faith in Box on this, given their complete muff around these parts on the last one.  Situation is very similar with a back end.

Maybe DIT after some Treehouse cans?

You tee'd that one right up for an out of the park HR.

Yes it was, on storm vista it was out to 36 just like the regular NAM was. I don't even think the parallel is on tropical tidbits.

Same problem.  This was taken about 3" before I reached my 14.5" on Sunday night.  I just gave up on deck shoveling a week ago.  Guess I won't be grilling until April.
