BuffaloWeather
Anyone want to go chasing a 100" event in the Tughill tonight? Got 3 people that are heading up there tonight. They have 6-7' on the ground there right now. Some cams: http://www.northernchateau.com/northernchateau.htm

Driving in to work eastbound on I-90 this morning, a veritable parade of pickups towing trailers heading west. Passing my neighbor's house on the way out where his trailer normally sits was a big pile of power tools and stuff, the sleds parked there were gone. I'm thinking a lot of people's contractors didn't show up on site today.

dendrite
Trust me...I'd kill for that. I can do without the 1-2" everyday crap though. If I'm going to spend time cleaning up for the birds it better be for an event worth it.

I went to school in lake effect country - it obviously doesn't last like the coastal snow but it's a lot of fun to be in day after day.
Damage In Tolland
It's pretty sad when on Feb 4th we're excited about hanging onto 2 inches of powdered sugar . This winter it's the small wins I guess . Deep pack out there this morning. http://

I correctly called a decent Dec. I blew January. That was a terrible forecast by me. I thought that would be a good month. But, I don't recall anyone calling for a torched Jan. Between snow and temps, I wouldn't call it great, better up north though. Why don't you wait and see how it plays out.

Here is my Dec forecast December: Colder than last December. Should average out near normal with normal snowfall. It won't be bitter cold, but cold enough for several decent snow events. The chances of a white Xmas are exponentially higher than last year when we were wearing shorts and toweling off back sweat as we decked the halls. The second half of the month should be the coldest and snowiest relative to normal.

ORH_wxman
I wouldn't mind spending a winter or two in montague NY area up around 1700 feet in tug hill. Snow retention there is def better than other les belts. Id probably tire though eventually of not getting big coastals.
