Anyone want to go chasing a 100" event in the Tughill tonight? Got 3 people that are heading up there tonight. They have 6-7' on the ground there right now.

Ah, that would explain it.  Driving in to work eastbound on I-90 this morning, a veritable parade of pickups towing trailers heading west.  Passing my neighbor's house on the way out where his trailer normally sits was a big pile of power tools and stuff, the sleds parked there were gone.  I'm thinking a lot of people's contractors didn't show up on site today.

It's pretty cool for about 24-48hrs and then you're wondering where the hell it all went. Especially if you throw some warm rain on top of it like from this upcoming system. 80" to 8" in no time.

it completely sublimates off a snow covered coat within a few minutes after walking inside. it also squeaks under your feet

A lot cooler than the 15-20" of crap that's fallen around here this year

From my winter forecast issued in Oct:

February:
After a cold start, I think winter abruptly ends rather dramatically somewhere around the middle of the month ,and things flip to early spring by latter half of month and March.

What about your epic December and crappy January call? Does that not count?

Yes. I correctly called a decent Dec.

I blew January. That was a terrible forecast by me. I thought that would be a good month.

But, I don't recall anyone calling for a torched Jan.

You were calling for a great December. Between snow and temps, I wouldn't call it great, better up north though. Why don't you wait and see how it plays out.

That would be 100% incorrect.. Here is my Dec forecast

December:
Colder than last December. Should average out near normal with normal snowfall. It won't be bitter cold, but cold enough for several decent snow events. The chances of a white Xmas are exponentially higher than last year when we were wearing shorts and toweling off back sweat as we decked the halls.   The second half of the month should be the coldest and snowiest relative to normal.

I guess that changed in your subsequent texts in November. You were pretty excited.

I wouldn't mind spending a winter or two in montague NY area up around 1700 feet in tug hill. Snow retention there is def better than other les belts. Id probably tire though eventually of not getting big coastals.

Right here, East Lacona 1273 feet, 11 inches of QPF in the pack
