cyclone77
Haven't even left yet. At least I had plenty of time to catch back up on everything. Cap really holding strong, but she sure looks about ready to go. One cell having some success southeast of Washington Iowa.
nwohweather
Plenty of sun off to the east here has really helped warm the surface. 83/61 currently at my house and I imagine that will not change as we progress into the evening with this warm frony
thomp2mp
Is it just me, or shouldn't there be another radar site installed between DVN and EAX? Would be quite beneficial. Quincy, IL seems like a good place.
Hoosier
Sun trying to pop out here and there's a nice area of clearing south of I-80. It's past peak heating but with it being about the longest day of the year, areas that can get some sun may get a bump in temps.
HillsdaleMIWeather
More showers are popping in East Iowa. Supposedly from someone on twitter who called the NWS Chicago, they are in a conference call for the watch figuring out the probs.

Jonbo
SPC has dropped the MCD for the 'upcoming' Tornado Watch, btw. Something seems a little off, but that's just my observation. My guess, the cap has held longer than expected and the MCD was already on a set time to expire. Hasn't changed anything yet except a little delay on full initiation. rolltide_130
Definitely a lot of precip that broke out at once. I'm wondering if the cap broke too much and too fast.
SmokeEater
My guess, the cap has held longer than expected and the MCD was already on a set time to expire. Hasn't changed anything yet except a little delay on full initiation. It just expired at its expiration time, means nothing. I can see that they want to wait until they know when imitation is going to happen to issue the watch as this event is gonna go well into the night.
