I reached 86 for a few minutes on my PWS. Think it's a bit too warm? 

 

Looks like area wx stations reporting 83° about.

Skies are milky looking now.

Woke up to the sound of chainsaws this morning. Neighbors are having their dead ash trees cut down. That emerald ash borer has just decimated the Ash trees in the area in the last 2 years.

Saw a big plume of smoke to the north and was wondering what was going on. Turns out it's a brush fire:

We have a fire across the lake from me in Canada. You can see the smoke for miles.

73° for a high here today. Pretty over cast now. Pretty soon Illinois Beach State Park will do their annual burn. Those cattails really get going sometimes under the right conditions. It rains ash here when the wind is east.

I think it's been discussed before but what's going on there?

Honestly, I don't know. I know the sensor has been replaced in recent years, and the sensor location isn't in an abnormal spot. The equipment is up to standards as well. All I know is it is a strange one.
