As jealous as I am of southtowners, I can't complain about living where I live. I lived in Boston and NYC through some huge storms - 1993, 1996, 2003, 2006 - and what we're getting now was what they had at the peak of those storms. And we get this at least a few times a year, even in relatively less snowy parts of the Buffalo Metro.

Both lakes will pour snow tonight though Thursday....parameters are extreme....upper lake connections aplenty....4-6"/hr. type stuff....and my house in Liverpool (north suburb of Syr.) should do nicely! :)

Ride into work tomorrow won't be fun....I think areas near Hannibal in SW Oswego Co. may exceed 2' by tomorrow night....Ski Country off Erie will be close to 2' max totals....Tug will cash in even without a "band" just due to orographic lifting...1.5' before the band moves north tomorrow...another foot afterward....FINALLY!!! :)

Obviously Not all that precip on the ggem is for this event..We have a synoptic system this weekend and some sweet looking les on a wnw/nw wind afterwords...(i know, it will change)

Sucks that i have to work overnight tonight, may be some rough travel home tomorrow morning..

I like the position of cutter on satellite. Looks to be just west of Toronto and headed SE. Back side thump Ontario south shore a possibility. Unfortunately, this low will rapidly push Erie snows well south into ski country for my buff brethren. I think round 2 will be a bit disappointing for all but extreme southern Erie.
