Flakes have started falling now.  Can see the moisture increase over the Spine and eastward into interior VT.

Great snow growth for what is falling, maybe we can capitalize on another sort of SW flow upslope event on the east side.  Definitely darker to the east though, as those SW winds are probably pushing these flakes a bit further east.  Seems to be set up over the Worecester Range for right now.

don't know how one living up north would consider the snowpack " glaciated"? Ive watched our 32 inches of snow pack settle about a foot in 5 days at temperatures 15 to 20 degrees below normal. (Conway NH) our pack will disappear quickly if rain comes.

I was thinking the same thing.  The majority of the snow pack here is pretty powdery.  Wouldn't take an awful lot to put a big dent in it.

Far from powder here. It's an icy nasty looking pack, at least in the populated areas of the CPV. We haven't had any real fresh appreciable snow in awhile. So it's settled, melted a little under the sun, and refrozen. Granted its only 7".

I'm sure its different away from BTV.

I dug a hole outside our house today. ~24" , but nearly all powder. Where the sun hits, the top layer is crust, but just below that, soft powder. I wonder if this march will be like last. Going to Hawaii last weekend of the month, bit sure would be nice to lock in three more solid weekends for sledding and skiing. March can be dicey. No guarantees.

He bailed out on us. Lol.

Watching it snow up there from down here in cold and cloudy Gulf coast Florida.  My brother found the condo, paid for it and gave it to us as a gift.  Then I saw where it was, Destin Beach.  Been here for 3 days and have not seen the sun.  Stiff winds  temps in the 50's to around 60F.  Average high is only 63F.  Just a couple hours southeast it stays in the 70's mostly.  So I'm happy to be out of New England cold but the gulf coast is not where I want to be, I wish I had more input before he committed.  Just stuck here now.   Looks like upper 60's coming up but that comes with the gulf moisture.  Hope my webcam stays up so I can watch my view up there.  It tends to get stuck every week or so and no one there to reset it.  Enjoy your snow tonight, have not been paying too much attention but I guess more midweek with a storm going NW but any warmup looks very brief?  I'm sure there the landscape will still be snowcovered when I return March 27.       Oh, one more thing.  Amazing building boom in this area the past 10 years.  Just mile and miles of new shopping centers, condos, resorts, high rises etc. Every piece of land has been taken with a new development or building.  Beautiful new area but a Cat 4 or 5 would just cause billions and billions of damage.  Amazing how much new construction.

There was a vintage sled show not far from here Saturday. Speaking of vintage, picked up a 97 Polaris Indy Lite for my son this weekend. In great shape. I think I got a deal at $650. I do have a pretty happy soon to be 11 year old. Also got in about 75 miles on absolutely beautiful trails. It's been a good season.

Looking back at our snowpack for the year at BTV, it seems pretty meager actually. Fairly constant but meager.

Haven't had over 10" the entire months of January and February. Only 5 days above 10" and that was in December, and never broke a foot.
