Grandfather Mountain is 12 miles away as the crow flies, and it's gone from crystal clear to completely shrouded in the last 20 minutes. I sure am going to miss this place. HIRES-NMM has consistently shown the potential for stray flurries outside of the mtns. Also, the 500mb vort max continues to be modeled farther SW with it's track. Then, it's off to some other institution of learning that will inevitably have worse scenery and weather than here.
