I'd love a big event--but at least we've had events. Better then nothing.

Where is CHO?

Charlotesville.

It was not included in the list because the official station does not measure snow. There is, however, a COOP station (# 441593) in Charlottesville that measures snow. It has reported 7.7" so far for the 2010-11 season.

BTW, in the above list, Dulles Airport should now be 11.8" given the adjustments to the recent storm and a smaller scale event a day later. DCA is now up to 9.4".

22.5" is awesome for Virginia Beach...we have some relatives down there, they must be very surprised with all the snow! Interestingly, another strong La Niña was pretty good in that area, 88-89, didn't the February 1989 storm hit you guys hard?

I wasn't alive in 1989, but the February 1989 storm only hit the beaches, from what I know.

12/16/10: One inch

12/26/10: Dusting

01/08/10: Dusting

01/11/10: Two inches

01/17/11 - 01/18/11: One inch of snow/ice

01/21/11: 1/2 inch

01/26/11: 3.5 in the morning 7.5 in evening back end for a storm total of 11 inches

02/21/11: 5 inches

Total for year: 20.5 inches now at my house.

Given my expectation for this winter was 15 inches, I have nothing to complain about.

In fact, I am right about at BWI area average, so, for a la nina where I was expecting not much, this has been an okay winter for me. The only thing that soured it so far is how close we have been to much more and the fact that I have made out so much better than the DC crew. The near misses for DC suck.

Wow Im surprised EKN only has 78" STD and BKW has more than EKN so far.

Must have been the southern trend early on. Beckley had a great December after recording nothing in November. Those days in Dec when I was getting just flurries/light snow almost every day, they were accumulating it with lower temperatures.

For the lowlands it's just an average snowfall year, but it feels like we should have been above normal. I guess it's because we started early and fizzled as winter went on.
