Better snowflakes in AUG than before, still mod snow. Wunderground radar over the past 2.5 hr has shown MBY stuck at 0-15 dbz while places north and south had 20-30. The Route 2 snow deflector remains effective, at least west of BGR. (What's happening is still much to be preferred than the mostly rain event shown 2-3 days ago.)

Sleet mixed with snow. Heavier precip turns to mostly icy flakes.

Checked our Snow Study Areas at 10:30am and found the following:

3,000ft

New: 1.3"

Depth: 55"

1,500ft

New: 1"

Depth: 31"

Our 1,500ft plot does get a bit effected by the wind, so the total depth is on the conservative side. We are going to build a Wyoming snow fence around the plot next year.

+SN in AUG last 15 minutes. Temp 9/10/11 was 21/25/30, and flake travel is right to left outside the east-facing window. L-R has a better progosis to stay snow, but we'll see. Probably 2" new, though it's hard to guess from 2nd story. Last Fri I was guessing 5-6" and found 8-9 in the parking lot when I headed home.

Due to our snowfall numbers for the previous 24 hour period getting recorded at 6am each morning, we are done with snowfall in February, so here are our numbers off the two Snow Study Area snow boards:

3,000ft

February Total: 72"

Seasonal Total: 246"

1,500ft

February Total: 50"

Seasonal Total: 142"

So 1,500ft elevations in this area are nearing 150" on the season, with near 250" in the higher elevations.

Coastal front is crashing back to the south. Light snow for last half hour and picking up in intensity at this time. Temp currently 32.0°F and falling and winds have turned to the east, where they were south earlier. Even as I look out now, visibility had dropped to 1/4m +SN. What a surprise!

ENE 15.0 mph G 25.3 mph

Just keeps switching back and forth between snow and sleet. Looks like this storm will be all frozen!

I see even at 10am, Morrisville-Stowe Airport was down to 1/2 mile vis moderate snow. We are still seeing light snow and sleet mixture but radar seems to suggest this is just about done now.

Final looks to be around 1-2" of snow and sleet. Net gain, and the snowpack is even more robust and durable now.

Portland has had a mixed bag for a while now. Was straight rain earlier but flakes and sleet have come back into the picture. Glad to hear inland areas got a relative pounding.

If anything, what has fell hasn't punished the snowpack much. Unbelievable fluctuation in the temp this morning. Only hope the temp keeps falling now.
