  1. Past hour
  2. .46” since yesterday at noon. I’ll take it
  3. I’d usually complain about this pattern, but we need the rain incredibly bad. This should at least help the southern portion of lower Michigan and much of Indiana and Ohio with drought conditions.
  4. Not terrible here. 68, bright cloudiness, dry. Just did a quick trail ride. Little muddy but not bad.
  5. Rain went through, added .04" sun trying to pop out again
  6. Could’ve swore that was one of my kids on our lake at first glance haha (also 3 blocks from my house). We don’t get too many nice glass days, it’s always windy and cold, or windy and hot with tons of wake from all the boats. Awesome picture.
  7. will check back in later Monday ( tomorrow..). lol may not be so polar happy. j/k but seriously, some short term acclimation bias probably makes that seem particularly nasty. that high zipping N of Maine will send a (probable) non-described defused BD, or just acceleration SW of cold air through the area and it's fresh from Labrador's anus. Maybe crashing through the upper 40s NE-E zones by evening, with snapping flags and light soothing blue balls rain drops. Probably we just go modestly BN but light rains around through Tuesday before a bit of a bounce back on Wednesday.
  8. Yep, today thus far has been a total flop - 0.03” since midnight with drizzle currently and a nowcast radar that shows much of the same the rest of the day. Again the best action is to the west… several hundred miles west. Perhaps tomorrow will be our day? .
  9. Given recent May-hem, I wouldn't be surprised. Hot today though! Was 79 a few minutes ago, wonder if it'll break 80 before the clouds take over.
  10. Went to lunch in Killingly, when we came out it was drizzly.
  11. thinking things will trend drier and warmer over the next 10 days but definitely some cool days mixed in, especially this week. looking at a change to SW flow and more active conditions around the 15th which should last through the end of the month (this is tied to indian ocean convection which climatologically flares up around this time - hence late May being a classic tornado stretch for the plains)
  12. I was there with my son. They're one of his favorite bands. I wasn't sure what to expect without Chester, but Emily was pretty bad ass. Hope you enjoyed it! Back OT: dark and damp here, but no new precip
  13. Guidance only but this WPC product has shown shrinking rainfall totals for days now. If I get what is shown here for my location and add the .50" I've had so far I'll end up with about 1.75" for the entire "wet period". I'll take it for sure but a far cry from what could have been and much less than what was being forecast from when we started. We'll see where final totals actually end up but this was a shaky heavy (3-4"+) rainfall evolution from the get go. So far extreme NW NJ seems to be doing best, from western Hunterdon, western Warren and up through NW Sussex.
  14. Yeah, radar is/was a disappointment today. Total flop... 68F/DP 65F
  15. This weather system is an ideal combination of warm temps, humidity, rain, clouds, and sun. This is really becoming one of the more enjoyable spring seasons I've experienced in a while.
  16. Good cell right over downtown BOS behind the front.
  17. Either extreme is horrible, if I had my way we would have controlled rainfalls twice a week (mostly at night) of around half an inch each lol.
  18. The heavy rainfall will be Monday into Tuesday, it was nice to pull in a mostly nice weekend. I'm more upset about the Wednesday-Friday weather though. Two days of rain is enough but it's supposed to linger for most of the week?
  19. The downpour I got last night was the first decent rainfall I got in the last couple weeks, so I had to do a lot of watering. I can't imagine how bad my lettuce plants would have looked had I not watered a lot. I agree that normal rainfall is just fine, but it's very annoying when we get long dry periods. The drought last fall was terrible.
  20. Today
  21. Yeah for the record I wasn’t implying anyone said that… but it’s still not that, ha.
  22. Yeah but we don't live in a desert, the normal rainfall we get is just fine. I haven't watered at all this year. Getting a quarter to a half an inch with each of these rainfalls is plenty. I think some people forgot what thats like-- getting 2-4 inch flooding rainfalls definitely isn't normal. Quarter to half inch rainfalls a couple of times a week is just fine.
  23. As other gardeners here have pointed out, it's amazing how much more quickly plants grow after a good rainfall than they do after our own watering.
  24. The heavy rain is in NW NJ as expected, but yeah we will have some showers moving in.
