I don’t follow MLB at all, but my soon-to-be 98-year-old grandmother has been a die-hard Orioles fan all her life, watches every game, etc. She keeps hoping they’ll win one more world series in her lifetime. Skimming through the comments in here, I’m guessing that’s not happening anytime soon. I wanna try to get someone from the team to sign something for her when she turns 100 though.

Five photos from the New York Botanical Garden on a sun-filled early September day. The hummingbird migration is in its early stages.

Yes. That's what the current 90-day figures show.

So a normal winter?

More decent rain falling here last few minutes (since 3:45), to add to my 0.35”, but radar shows and skies suggest it won’t last more than a few more minutes most likely. Edit: 3rd rain from a shower fell just after 5PM. Looks like another quick one.

Was cool overnight for sure-had to grab the blanket. Perfect sleeping weather -
The development of Western Brooklyn and Queens over the last 20 years has definitely had an impact on this.

Fall 2026 Medium/Long Range Pattern Thread
Carvers Gap replied to John1122's topic in Tennessee Valley
Jax, you beat me to it. The 12z EPS is depicting a strong EPO/PNA ridge hybrid. That "should" could things off drastically here. Is it temporary? IDK. But we are on schedule for a pattern change right about then. That would open the door for frosts in the valleys and possibly the first flakes above 4k'. Very rough time estimate is Sept 15-17th for the flip. It could be delayed to ~Sept 20th. This could feel sharply different after what we have seen lately. -

So, what is going on with the 1,500 “guests” that view the main page for no more than 24 minute? Who are these guests and why do they look almost exclusively at the main page ? In this era of social media, are there ready that many people interested in a weather forum run on outdated software ? -

Yeah I can’t compute that into sensible weather, ha. Sustained 2”+ per hour rainfall. -
Moved even further to the northeast than recon even thought! Landfall is definitely a possibility...
