It does. Heavy downpours and constant thunder and lightning. Impressive for any time but especially for March.

It has never happened before. May 1977 probably the closest you're going to get: 1977-05-06 84 57 70.5 9.9 0 6 0.47 0.0 0 1977-05-07 74 53 63.5 2.6 1 0 0.00 0.0 0 1977-05-08 64 39 51.5 -9.6 13 0 0.10 0.0 0 1977-05-09 44 36 40.0 -21.4 25 0 0.31 T 0

Really has been a bore-fest here so far. Nice breeze is about it so far. And God damnit BBasil, take some better photogenic pictures. You never seen to catch the moment...Never! 66F/Breezy -
It would be hilarious to be 87 today and then snow tomorrow night.

2025-2026 Fall/Winter Mountain Thread
Maggie Valley Steve replied to Buckethead's topic in Southeastern States
Storms are puttering out as they approach the Mountains. Unless those storms in Mississippi maintain along the frontal boundary, we may not see that much in the way of beneficial rainfall. I'm not expecting any snow here in the Valley. Perhaps we'll see some snow covered ridges above 4k. We'll see. -
With such impressive and consistent ridging out west its not out of the question. It's pretty close to out of the question though.

He’s just weenieing that 1 extra inch for 70”.

In accordance with tradition from another weather community I'm in, I'm committing to a salt bet: If DCA reports 0.1" or more of accumulated snow, I will eat a tablespoon of salt.
-
Rolling thunder, lightening and a heavy downpour.

0.49” in that round. Hope to get more tonight. I am mentally converted to full spring weather with showers and thunderstorms, but unfortunately winter is making a comeback. -
Pouring with a few rumbles and distant lightning.

The only power outages I could find up that way that we're listed was by pp&l, and I believe I counted 17. It doesn't mean that there wasn't touchdowns or severe weather, but it looks like it might have been pretty sporadic and not a swath. -

The snow pile at the end of my neighbor's driveway has finally melted. All that's left is the piles in parking lots. -

We literally go from storms to snow. Must be crashing temps right around 5 and 6 because that's when it looks to hammer. For posterity measurements, it's currently 65 degrees at 9am... Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
