I made this point months ago. What they do isn’t by accident. They constantly push their ideological agenda along the edges of what’s allowed. Crazy conspiracy comments about the government regarding NWS or NCEP. Climate change. In here I’ve seen “patriotic” posts masking blatant jingoism and nativist tropes. And yes we can do the same and push back in subtle ways along the edges but it’s fucking exhausting. Last year the usual suspects filled up the long range thread with climate denial crap for 2 days and when I directly attacked them within 20 mins “now it’s getting political and we need to delete all this”. But their BS nonsense was up for 2 days and only got deleted because I made it a fight. Someone said some blatantly xenophobic shit in the New England banter thread that was up for a week then within 5 mins of me attacking it “this is political”. Im not playing this “how do I be subtle around the edges BS”. I’m direct. I don’t play those games. And those games play right into what they want. Don’t allow their BS nonsense to be directly confronted. If there really was no “politics” fairly on both sides fine. But that not what happens because most don’t bitch about every little stupid on the fringe thing the MAGA crew say. But the moment someone attacks them it gets a complaint from one of them and deleted. They end up with space to subtly push their crap without pushback. As for the Islamophobia point I made that got deleted a few days ago, anyone who had a problem with what I said is a blatant bigot. Why are we protecting their feelings? Why are we worried about having a fight with those people?

Since AI is supposed to learn, it probably just looked at the last 10 years of every winter storm tracking south and weaker of the projected track a few days out. lol
-
It was the frostiest morning of the season so far. If you squinted it kind of looked like snow.

It’s very worth it. It’s written like a text book on snowstorms. Get the expanded edition that has the extra volume that goes into the dynamics behind the storms.

The Greenland block linked up with the Southeast ridge at storm time last winter when it counted. This chart below shows the 11 days last winter when the heaviest precipitation of .20 or more fell from Philly to Boston. While last winter was colder than recent winters, the cold only arrived behind the major Great Lakes cutters which produced most of the precipitation. The 11 day winter 2024-2025 composite when most of the precipitation fell

If saying that posting an image of 9/11 next to a Muslim candidate with a keffiyeh photoshopped on his head is “lunacy” I’m proud to be insane. That’s where you want to be. It shouldn’t be unacceptable to say how wrong that is ANYWHERE. Anyone who thinks that is OK is a racist piece of shit and why are we worrying about upsetting them?

Major Hurricane Melissa - 892mb - 185mph Jamaica landfall
GaWx replied to GaWx's topic in Tropical Headquarters
From elsewhere: The number of deaths caused by Melissa on Jamaica is now 35 and still rising with an unknown number of people missing. Unfortunately, as expected, this makes Melissa one of the deadliest hurricanes in Jamaica in the recorded database (1851 - now) and the deadliest since Gilbert (using the current death toll). Here are the other most destructive hurricanes in Jamaica since 1851.Hurricane / Year / Death tollCharlie / 1951 / 1521912 Jamaica hurricane / 1912 / 1001903 Jamaica hurricane / 1903 / 65Gilbert / 1988 / 45Tropical Depression One / 1979 / 41Melissa / 2025 / 35 That’s from Kevin, a Storm2K poster -
MJO is headed towards the WP in a few days,Euro and JMA seem to be in good agreement it could possibly stay active as it gets into the NH,no clue what it does after that ATM.But this upcoming pattern as we get towards the middle of Nov looks rather bleak for several days, more than likely SER,just make matters worse all the models has a phoon headed towards East China next week

Not yet but I’m not going to stop speaking the truth so they will ban me sooner or later when they get tired of having to delete my posts constantly. I’m kinda shocked they haven’t already. I’m totally fine with getting banned from a board if said forum thinks saying “bigotry is evil” is controversial and unacceptable.

Overnight Wednesday, November 5, 2025 Wind Event
CoastalWx replied to weatherwiz's topic in New England
Starting at 18z Tuesday it trended weaker. Even yesterday it was meh. That can happen. Weaker jet dynamics helped cause it. Shortwave was coming from Canada which we know can cause issues until it gets closer to the denser monitoring near the US. -
Here’s my current NWS forecast low for Nov 11th:MONDAY NIGHT CLEAR. LOWS AROUND 30.- If this verifies, it would be the earliest freeze at KSAV since the 11/7 32 low of 2010-If it gets down to the predicted 30, that would be the coldest so early in the season since way back in 1976! https://www.weather.gov/wrh/Climate?wfo=chs

Central PA Fall Discussions and Obs
Itstrainingtime replied to ChescoWx's topic in Upstate New York/Pennsylvania
With the big warm up inbound later next week I'd really love to hold off on turning the heat on until we get into a more consistent colder weather pattern. Monday/Tuesday next week will be a challenge to accomplish that. Though, only one night of sub-freezing temps are expected locally.
