  2. Today's Highs EWR: 99 New Brnswck: 98 BLM: 97 PHL: 97 TEB: 96 TTN: 95 ACY: 93 NYC: 93 LGA: 93 JFK: 87 ISP: 84
  3. In Littleton, NH tonight. Looks like some storms moving in shortly Sandwich still looks steined
  4. Yes it did. It was a very impressive start to the heatwave there.
  5. some years ago, during a very warm summer, JFK recorded a dewpoint of 84F with a wind right off the ocean (the ocean was super warm). If you're by the water, you can get there.
  6. honestly they'll probably do it even with the river wind. If we get more of a western component then you're probably looking at a run at the all-time record.
  7. I am of the mindset that if we are going to have tropical dewpoints then we are entitled to have tropical downpours.
  8. You should not have dewpoints at 79 degrees. You are way too far north for this. Those are conditions for the Gulf Coast or places like Buda, Texas where I live. I've been out in this all spring/early summer. I'm used to it.
  9. Just got in from dinner at Matunuck in Wakefield. Car said it was 68 and some of the girls were complaining it was windy and cold under the tent. High was 74 at my Wunderground station on Judith.
  10. Going on 9 and sitting at 88/79 with a heat index of 104. That is just not right.
  11. It's really hard to fiquire out exactly why, but it's been 2 full seasons of bad baseball going back to about the half point in 2024. It's not a small sample size anymore. The team just isn't as talented as what they were made out to be. Even Gunner has been on a downward spiral for the last 2 seasons. I'm torn on what direction they need to head in long term but what there doing now isn't working and hasn't worked for 2 full seasons now.
  12. I don’t know. Not feeling too confident about it. Was really hopeful earlier but nothing really indicating. I do think we will at least see some isolated activity during the night.
  13. Looking like Fri may be the one hot day near the south shore. I don't think the barrier islands got above 80 today and may not tomorrow either.
  14. I don't know...that was just half a season, though. He was pretty dominant in the first half and in the seasons before. So that was more likely to be blip as opposed to evidence of regression. And here's what I always say about a closer: they are hard to raise and you need to get a little lucky. Relying on young arms to fill the role when you are trying to win is a risky proposition: to be a closer requires a different mentality than the other bullpen innings. Not just any arm with good stuff can do it.
  15. Common weather gods we need good weather for Saturday especially Saturday night !!!!
  16. I am getting my daily weather records for today, July 1 2026. I see that Dale City hit 99 degrees. You also have dewpoints at 76 degrees. These are conditions highly representative of where I live!!!!! You are under an EXTREME HEAT WARNING for heat index values up to 112 degrees. Again, these are conditions highly representative of places like AUSTIN, TEXAS. Be extremely careful, especially if you are going to the UFC 250. It's going to become extremely hot. Stay out of the sun. GET INTO AIR CONDITIONING!!!!!!! Drink lots of water! Wear light colored, loose fitting clothes out there! 112 heat indices ARE NO FRACKING JOKE!!!! Washington is NOT supposed to be this hot! EDIT!!!! Charles Town is 88 degrees with an 82 degree dewpoint. This means that it feels like its 106 degrees there RIGHT NOW 8.48pm West Virginia time!!!! Looks like they topped out at 91 degrees with lows around 77. It's 88 degrees there alongside 82 degree dewpoints. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR ANYONE DOING WORK OUTSIDE. Just noticed in central MAINE heat indices to 110 degrees expected. THAT'S VERY VERY BAD.
  17. HRRR had the ART line making it here by morning…albeit a shell of itself
  18. I was worried we wouldn't have maxed temps today and struggled in the lows 90s. As with any decent event, once you start slinging warnings and changing plans, etc. you need the event to pan out or you'll look foolish. So let's just go for broke and make this one to remember.
  19. If DCA doesn't get river winded tomorrow and Friday they could pull back to back 100s.
  20. 97 at DTW today. No record, but the hottest temp since 2019.
  21. The NAM has been kicking ass this week with convection (not just these parts). NAM doing what it was designed to do! Going to be a big loss when it’s gone when it comes to convective forecasting (and CAD)
