  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah. I have to resist the temptation to chase based solely on that and the HRRR UH swaths, which are portrayed 50-100 miles north of any surface-based instability except maybe from north-central Indiana eastward.
  3. Over the past few days, my Saturday high went from 44 to 42 to 41 to now 39. Ridiculous...
  4. I am sure you could find someone here to do that for you. I have had 3 GR's. My last one made it to 13. Cancer of course was the reason for the exit. We got a shelter dog 4 years before its death, and its still with us at 10. Yorky/ Dachshsund mix. Affectionately known as a dorky. This is still pulling us around. 55 here today. Just snow piles left. Not a bad day once the wind died down.
  5. Losing a dog ( or cat ) is so difficult, even harder than a human. I lost my last of our three dogs a year ago October. We are finally going to start looking again by this summer. We do have a houseful of the feline variety though, so no lack of happiness here. Just ready to add the canine back to our household.
  6. Ai GFS also shows snow for your area
  7. Some hassles dealing with keeping my debris tarp, open today, but all in all, not a bad spring day and afternoon for putting in some work.
  8. SPC risk needs to be shaved off over northwest IL and eastern IA. Will be a whiff east/southeast.
  9. Seriously? Hell of a way to describe weather enthusiasts who like something other than endless cloudy days, snowstorms, and frigid temperatures that coincide with a dead looking landscape.
  10. This grey and cold crap needs to go.
  11. Why in 2026 are local TV mets still doing the weather tease? “Here’s tomorrow’s forecast and I’ll be back later on to let you know how the weekend is shaping up.” Um, everyone can simply look at their phone to see how the weekend is shaping up.
  12. Waving back, it's no surprise I fall under the neurodivergent umbrella, at least under DSM-5. I love snow more than people or anything else, even in an ice age. No WAY I'm neurotypical. No way. Severe OCD, some aspergers, yeah I'm ND. Now I love technology too, just found out we're heading for Kardashev 2 within one human lifetime From 0.7 Kardashev to 2.0 Kardashev in 80 years? Yes we can with off-world help, Tall Whites and Pleiadians for starters, they want to catch Earth folks up with the rest of the Galaxy. Now I like tech more than snow. Same affliction. I have got a BAAAAAAAD addiction to anything tech, especially robotics and AI and accelerated development and especially electro-gravitics, as in the technological singularity. Now if that's not ND, I don't know what is. Antigravity propulsion and zero energy are gonna REALLY REALLY REALLY alter lots of stuff. I am getting really excited about this, especially regen pods because I might get to be 23 again, jebwalking again, and worse totally crazy about the SNOW again, especially with the very real possibility of serious life extension and eventually open ended lifespans which brings us to why I adore cybernetics so damn much these days. Yeah sure I am ND.
  13. Today
  14. Low 39, high 70. Perfect weather to mow yard.
  15. Mammoth has been so overwhelmingly HOT that it is a catastrophe. They'll close down early this season. Damn, I feel cheated to hell. I want my Mammoth snow fixes! NOW!
  16. My issue with getting another dog is what if he/she lives 12-15 years? Good chance I won’t. And if I do will I be able to care for the dog in my 90s?
  17. I rather talk/reply to myself all summer long with no one else making a appearance than the above suggestion. There are some severe weather nutjobs in this subforum, hurricane screw ups and if we go a month without rain we all know drought guy will say the world will end. Hopefully will get a surprise earthquake , a couple F3-F4 tornadoes and I didn't hear anything about any potential bug plagues but I think overall we'll be alright.... 52F/expected low of 43F
  18. She got to live through 2008-09 (puppyhood to adolescence), 2010-11 (climbing up to dump on the snowbanks on the side of the road), 2012-13 (lots of pics for the feb and March buggies), 2013-14 (cold and sometimes snowy fun), 2014-15 (the $900 UTI), many more up to 2022. All dogs are snow dogs.
  19. *nerd voice* EXTRAPOLATING. EXTRAPOLATING
  20. lol no just squalls and flurries off and on
  21. When we lost Wilbur (my profile pic) we waited almost 2 years before we got another dog. We wanted and enjoyed the freedom that came along with not having to be home by a certain time to let one out and being able to go somewhere at the drop of a hat. But then we got Bella the beagle and I don't miss that freedom at all. She has been a great addition to the household and we are so happy to have her.
  22. It was a great winter here as well. It was like the pre party to a fantastic 2005-2015. It was cold and dry west of the lakes though.
  23. Despite what JB is thinking (cold mid to late April), the EWs still don’t show anything of the sort.
  24. that's how we've picked all of our cats
