20 degrees with snow still. The wind is ripping.

No I called you out for your ridiculous forecast of a coating to an inch here. It was a great event 4-8” from Philly to the south coast. Can’t stay true to the bet? You lost you were wrong get over it - no posts til Jan 1. We are here to talk about weather, if you don’t like it then don’t post. Add to add what @weathafellasaid there’s no better time than 4” of snow than the holidays, it’s gorgeous out and everyone is enjoying it. No one called for a foot of snowpack lasting through the holidays down here.

Measured between 5” and 6”

Just finished shoveling. Measured a few spots, came back with 5.5" in SW CT. Started off slow this morning at 3.5", then quickly got up to the 5.5" final. Good overperformer, hope this bodes well for rest of season.

He seems to me like someone who is just unhappy with life at the moment. I know he mentioned one time that he was working two jobs to make ends meet. He knows most here like cold and snow so he looks for reasons against that to make other people unhappy since he is. Sometimes it’s just the way humans are. If things aren’t going great in his life right now, I hope things get better for him.

What a great storm for everyone. Glad to see snow just before Christmas, especially when it hangs around for a few days.

Highway wasn’t terrible but saw two separate accidents on route 8 that looked like spin outs. One was on the southbound side and the other on the north bound side…probably even a few miles from each other. Definitely more snow headed through Seymour and in Ansonia than along 84. Beautiful scenery, everything caked in snow

I don’t think it did very good. It was too generous with qpf. It had like .4-.5 of liquid here yesterday. We got an inch of snow. That math doesn’t add up.

Final measurement around 11 am was 6.7"; as of 10 am we had 6.3" and then I did my 3rd shovel (so much easier in batches, lol) and as of 10:45 am with the snow winding down we had 6.6"; we got another 0.1" after that. Huge overperformer from my 5" guesstimate and the 4.5" NWS forecast (and some media forecasts for only 1-3" for our town).

I was looking at that earlier... it kind of fell apart.

It was right for the wrong reasons up here.

This. Some folks are just constant curmudgeons. Been a frigid month so far…and now some snow. Sad that some can’t Appreciate. Like getting a 75-80 degree day or two in early April…we enjoy and take, even though we know the 42 degree misery mist will be back in a few days. Enjoy the moment.

Comfortable calling it 7” here, though not to be confused with an official measurement. Was a good storm, especially for December, that reached its max potential. Happy it wasnt as localized as initially modeled and the meso’s caught the more expansive and robust precip coverage. I guess every now and then charlie brown can kick the ball before lucy pulls it.

The did a nice job. I thought it was little aggressive, just because it felt like a moisture starved clipper….but the mid level frontogenesis really produced.

Yeah its 38 here and breezy but it was supposed to be below freezing by now here

Just under 4” on the ground here, quite cold, plus on and off snow showers. Doesn’t get a whole lot better for mid-December!

Some of you when Greta is brought up lol. Don’t really see much in the pipeline before Christmas at the moment. Blows.

WEATHER: It's fn cold. The half inch of snow received yesterday is now blowing about and freezing on contact. Main roads are good but side roads suck something awful. Looks like the warm up will be brief and back to colder by Christmas.

Lastly, getting a nice little streamer right now and enhancing the deep winter feel. This is perfect.

Sun was out much of the morning. Now a decent squall has moved in. 23° with winds gusting to 33. Windchill of 9.

Moving the goalposts I see. Hard to do with the kind they use now…. 100% knew the details of this disappearing by later this week. Amount’s through 12/25 are still debatable but you must have a joyless life if you can’t appreciate the beauty of a little snow we have today.
