  1. Past hour
  2. Surface, bad. Pack…just fine and still well above normal here. Don’t think tonight and tnrw will fix the surface as much as once thought, but by mid week, back in business…at least for jay. .
  3. Tries to get a low going off the coast too. Borderline temps down your way but definitely a better run. Need other guidance to follow though.
  4. Light coating of snow tonight. Some flurries flying currently.
  5. For all my haters out there, here’s a positive for you. Gfs took a big step towards something better with the clipper
  6. Warned squalls crossing the international border. There's a good amount of zonal motion with this squall, somewhere like Plattburgh or SLK could get an extended period of heavy rates
  7. Missed the changeover when I was at a Christmas party. Came home to a light coating and an icy driveway.
  8. Got back to Springfield to a coating of snow
  9. I don't see any evidence of fresh salt chunks but all the roads look salty too me and I'm confused how lol.
  10. Yeah that is the period to watch until a pattern shift. Definitely a lot of rumbling about some sort of wave rolling through. But the blocking situation or whether we get a good 50/50 or not is just super far from getting resolved.
  11. The airmass believe it or not is better than it was with the last event. At least to start. Its 32/13 on the NAM at 12Z. The bigger risk with this is it just is largely too far north in the end.
  12. Verbatim looks like a dry slot over NYC, maybe some light snow but poor antecedent conditions would probably result in white rain with no accumulation. Would likely be a few inches of snow through New England though
  13. I think Ineedsnow mentioned it; definitely a flash freeze here.
  14. You guys might wanna keep a weather eye on this cam, because this is The Scope up at Palisades Tahoe at 8200 feet. Sure, it's snowing. Latest models print out about 10-14 inches of pure water. Fourteen inches pure water equates to about say, 100-140 inches of snow? https://www.palisadestahoe.com/mountain-information/webcams Central TX is gonnabe jumping for pure joy because man we are gonnabe breaking temperature records right and left, possibly RIGHT INTO THE NEW YEAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. From one photographer to another... You nailed it. This is such a perfect shot. Sent from my Pixel 10 Pro using Tapatalk
  16. Ok so I cannot figure out why it won't let me upload more than 2 photos per post at a time, but I finally got my laptop back from the repair shop earlier this week (daughter colluded with gravity to break the power button) and got to go through my photos from last Mon/Tue. Really an incredible snow event, and I can't stress enough how rare the lack of wind was up here; I've lived here a decade and this is the first time I've ever seen a snow this calm. We had something similar in 2017 but it was a much, much shorter calm period as the low wrapped around and we briefly cleared before NW flow. Sorry in advance for "spamming" a few posts at once
  17. There were still some real nasty localized winds, but thankfully this one doesn't seem to be as widespread as the Wednesday one.
  18. Today
  19. Actually under a good burst right now…
  20. 26° less than half an inch of snow which turned into sheer ice on the roads, highway department is out but it’s treacherous
