Both 1949-50 & 2022-23 were similar here in that they were overall very mild winters but with multiple winter storms. There was certainly some excitement but winter did not sustain itself.

That was my first take before a biologist friend clued me in! I wish I had taken some pics because it was quite remarkable in some areas.

I would gladly take a repeat of that winter minus the trough down to the Baja....would have been a good season with a more pedestrian RNA.

I was at an event thing last week in LA. An accuweather presenter (I think their head met) there said they were sticking to 13 to 18 named storms. But 13 storms aren’t walking through that door, much less 18.

Think I heard it was a cold core storm, but honestly the radar representation screams a subtropical or weak tropical storm for sure. Ocean water temps there NE North Carolina to VA Beach probably low to mid 70's.

Not happening in this area.

I said a "warmer version of that season adjusted for climate change"....which means it can still be a valid analog.

Horribly missed forecast. Predicted 1 to 3 inches and we ended up with .21" total. The 35 to 40 mph winds never materialized either.

I ended up getting a couple of afternoon/evening showers and the clouds hung in all day. It's currently 60 after a high of 71.

Yeah it's getting there. I'd never say never until early Oct. is gone but most likely.

My guess is no, and especially not anywhere north of there. Maybe some sprinkles, light showers to wet the ground, that's probably it, nothing widespread.

Due to some family and professional changes, SLK is going to be WXW 2 for me for the foreseeable future. It’s different up there I’ll tell you that…

It’s curtains for anything in the tropical Atlantic developing out there and impacting the continental U.S. That ship has sailed. Best chance would now come from the homebrew regions…which as we saw last year can still produce monsters.

It is a hybrid storm. 61 degrees all day here. VA Beach had 50 MPH gusts and over 6 inches of rain and it's still going on. It even had an eye as it was entering the Chesapeake Bay. It should have had a name.

It poured all the way from Fredericksburg to IAD. Go figure.

Drive home from work was wet! Didn’t see what happened late afternoon to now, but I think the northern neck avoided the heavier stuff.

it's much worse now. oak trees are 3/4 brown. From what I read, the worst was N Falmouth Sandwich but it's spread way east to Yarmouth, Brewster etc.
