  1. Past hour
  2. I got between 5.5 and 6 inches of snow depth right now in an open area on packed soil (not grass.) I'm in NE Queens. And I thought I was getting shafted for awhile early this morning. I have seen video from Central Park and it clearly shows more than 2.7 inches. And this is why the arbitrary 4 inch measurement record is still alive and well.
  3. I have my eyes are on next weekend. Wave comes through late next week that brings in a cold push. There is a clipper system that has some potential to bring wintry weather.
  4. This has been going on since the Nov 20th and earlier runs were too warm for Thanksgiving week in much of the E US.
  5. Obviously the numeric indices aren't as important as the the patterns they attempt to quantify, but overall I suspect that NAO blocking is less impactful for you guys in the current base state. The return flow before a shortwave has just been a little too warm. I know, I know: it's been rare lately to get a well-positioned block that lasts. But transient boot-leg stuff used to have a greater probability of meaningful results. Will that change some if we can ever get out of the -----PDO dregs, I don't know. I sure hope so. By the way, I loved your work in Blazing Saddles. Would you consider signing up for a remake?
  6. Didn’t really even have to shovel. Dissapointing event overall vs models. Happy for those who got snow
  7. I'm so down with a Roanoke/Richmond > DC/Baltimore shellack and Philly fringe/NYC bust storm.
  8. yeah our streets caved - i doubt Wisconsin Ave did though. But yeah, at least we got something. Kids were happy (but played outside very briefly because it is not pleasant out lol).
  9. I can't imagine why. One of the local TV stations measured three inches in the park at 9am when it was still snowing heavily. Anti snow must have fallen after that.
  10. HRRR continues to show a narrow band of 2-4 inches of extra snow for parts of Cape before this one wraps up. Very tight gradient however, 5-10 miles could be the difference between a dusting and higher amounts.
  11. Asking a normie neighbor. That's dedication.
  12. Here comes another period that was supposed to be mild but took a turn to the colder side.
  13. There was nothing wrong with your reaction. The Park under measured . They under measure 90% of the time. They've been doing it for years and it's become worse the last several. I basically ignore their totals now. They are virtually meaningless.
  14. You, my friend, are a Bengals fan. Glad to have a like minded friend on board. Your assessment is the equivilent of racking up 450 yards and 38 points, and losing by 1. I think I speak for many, if we ain't winning, I don't care about the stats.
  15. Measured 3.25" in Pelham Bay Park. I believe is the most significant snowfall in years. Did some real snow shoveling for the first time in a while. Heavy wet stuff doesn't help.
  16. Another snow squall blowing through here with sideways snow. Pavement covered quickly. 19°.
  17. 2.5" on the west side of Southbury... @The 4 Seasons
  18. One of the best for sure.
  19. Im the 4.3” SE of the park thats kinda of why I reacted like that
  20. That throw to Zay may be his best of the season?
