  1. Past hour
  2. Had a cartopper here but it changed to a very miserable cold rain
  3. The 80’s had very little snowcover bro..it just didn’t snow. So you believe what you want. You’ve had quite a few years there, that when a tick farted..you’d pull 10” to cover the mulch beds. So whatever. The 12th delivering some snow would be nice for all of us.
  4. So many late 70's cutters. Even in Coal Country in NE Pennsylvania, saw many a New Year's Eve storm start out as snow, but eventually change over to a plain rain...
  5. You are not long for this board.
  6. Oh I just meant the overall look, not that particular storm.
  7. That window seems interesting for somebody on the EC to maybe get something a little more substantial...but that's just my amateur eyes, and seeing an X Met mention that weekend, lol
  8. 12z GFS kinda funky lol. randomly drops a foot of snow in 9 hours on central VA
  9. Next Thurs-Fri is looking a little bit interesting. Doesn’t look like anything big but if the clipper takes the right track we could get a 2-4” or 3-6” event.
  10. Actually, I'll take the sugar coating from early this morning. No snow on the streets, but that didnt stop the Garwood DPW from salting. While the Garwood DPW always does a great job plowing, they HAVE to stop salting, unless absolutely necessary...
  11. Hoping it materializes for the 12th (vs the 13th)
  12. Well being 6 days out, thats expected. 18z it’ll show it in the lakes, or not at all. Wish it was a little closer in with regard to time…6 days is a long ways off.
  13. I never did learn how to read these things...
  14. That is a pretty wild H5 at hr 180 on the gfs lol
  15. Personally I'd rather it be cold with no snow than warm with no snow. At least the ponds are frozen and I can visit the mountains to get a dose of winter when I need.
  16. I distinctly remember you and I on the Bill Evans board discussing this exact surprise on that day.
  17. Sun has broken out from behind the clouds and temp has soared to 39.2 degrees at 11:15 am, looks like it is raining in the woods from the snow melting off the trees.
  18. Gfs went from flaccid to powder keg look on one run. Lol
  19. Memorable here, too. I feel like those of us who got the goods (not everyone in the sub, we will prob be reminded shortly) reminisce about this event almost every year haha. Total whiteout. Most intense rates I've ever seen. Insane drifts from 1-2" snow.
  20. Friday evening's light snow gave me another 0.3" to add to the day's total accums, so finished the day at 1.4" -- over-performance!!
  21. December 2016 and December 2022 seem like the best matches. We have a lot of the elements of those seasons this year: -ENSO, deep -IOD, la nina background, and strong Pacific jet. Plus, a cooler December. If we don't get the snowstorm, then I really like the 2016-17 and 2022-23 analogs even more (sorry Team Snow). The only places I think that will do well in the East are places like upper New York (Buffalo to Albany), Vermont, and northern New Hampshire/Maine. Places near the coast are going to have a tough time getting snow.
  22. 11/11 0.1 11/30 0.1 12/02 0.2 (sleet) 12/05 3.8 12/06 1.5 Total 5.7
