Cleared out here around 9:20 or so. It actually felt pretty good once that left

Its going to be another one of those summers (and falls and winters and springs) where @TheClimateChanger spends hours and hours scouring xmacis and ncdc to find the most random, middle-of-nowhere location that he can plug into his latest agenda cherry picked post. Its crazy, Ive lived in MI my entire life and I always thought Alpena, Standish, Saginaw etc were hours away from Detroit. But apparently, they are rural suburbs of Detroit . The actual metro-Detroit suburb temps for that day were all in the same range, 84, 85, 86, 87. The warmest temp found was 88F at White Lake, 40+ miles NW of DTW. But you see, TCC does not want accurate readings. If DTW temps come in comparable to all surrounding areas that is unacceptable- they need to be 2-4F warmer than everywhere else to please TCC.

Pretty good. I've been seeing a lot of specialists and undergoing a lot of tests. Most everything I've had done to this point has come back favorably. I do have a heart issue, likely hereditary that will need to be addressed at some point. Mainly due to that, I've (we including my wife) have made some significant dietary changes. Today marks exactly 2 months since I first went into the ER (just realized that as I write this) and over the past 60 days I've lost 27 pounds and I feel SO much better. Back to the heart, the issue that will need addressed is my aortic valve, the good news is that it's in much better shape than originally feared. I was originally diagnosed with "moderate stenosis" but after further testing, blood work, etc. it is now considered "minimal." My recent blood work and vitals were probably the best numbers I've had since I was a young adult. BP is fantastic, Cholesterol is good. I probably exercise slightly more than I did prior to all of this but just changing what I put into my system is paying off. I can't stress enough how important it is to eat good, healthy foods. Veggies, nuts, fruits...and lean meats. No eating after supper. No, or very little in the way of sugary drinks. It matters.

https://weather.cod.edu/forecast/legacy/ Choose our region, HRRR as your model, and then time back to 12z. You'll see a cell go into MD by DC around hour 6. Then slowly move forward to hrs 7 and 8 and you should see it

It's fun to track these micronets, Corona has hit 90 already Howard Beach 82, Ozone Park 84 Tremont in the Bronx is 89 as is Fresh Kills in Staten Island Water temp near 59th street is 74 East River water temp is 57 Manhattan Mesonet 85 Brownstone Brooklyn 87 why don't any of these show wind direction?

Dew points in the 60's would be very nice right now. Try dew points near 80.
-
Elevated and with a humid S wind easy to see why it's foggy.

The 6z AI was much stronger and closer to us with the early Sunday thunderstorm complex compared to 0z. The regular Euro has it going through northern New England.

Had no idea even HRRR was modeling things like that... If you have a min, can you post what you're seeing? I looked and can't see it

After today there isn’t really a threat of rain for at least 10 days it seems to me. Things will dry out fast.

It’s pretty bad up here too with all of the lakes and rivers. It’s so wet right now too. I had fog forming around 8pm yesterday evening. Like you’ve said, the skeeters have been extra vicious. The black flies have been minimal though. Maybe the mosquitoes are eating them too.

I agree. I don't think we'll see 96 during this event. I'd say we top out at 94 maybe Monday and/or Tuesday, and lower 90s the rest of the time. However the Carnot-Moon Accuweather point and click did tick a bit warmer this morning, lol.

Not all, but my recollection, selective maybe, is that max AN temps often occur with a heat wave in June in Niñas then not so AN the rest of the summer. I guess we'll see if my memory is tainted with a wishcast.

Unfortunately, I don't have such details and I am not aware of their being published. Given where things currently stand, I think its solution is probably somewhat more likely than that on the operational AI. Nevertheless, even at this timeframe, it is subject to errors, so one can't fully rule out more widespread heat.

I don't have much expectation that partial privatization or private partnerships would address the structural modeling issue. A model that would be publicly available wouldn't produce high profit margins. Only sustainable competitive advantages requiring exclusivity or near exclusivity in solutions, would command such profit margins. Thus, investments wouldn't be devoted to models per se.
