  1. Past hour
  2. Is this one of those winters where we might not have to erase massive AN temperature anomalies across the North American continent before it can get cold? It sure is starting to look like that if LR ext and seasonal modeling is correct.
  3. Absolutely, anything can be skewed whichever way someone wants it these days. Also, multiple record lows were set the last few days, some very old records. Springfield, IL set a record low of 44F, breaking a 140-year record by 4F. Flint missed by 1F, Detroit missed by 3F, but Toledo set a record low this morning of 48F. We just arent having someone post an itemized list as they do when theres any kind of record highs.
  4. Welp, Ginxy got some rain earlier, just got home and Steined only a mile or so away from him
  5. It was 29F in Rosscommon today. An incredible 38F at the aforementioned cold spot Ann Arbor (which is ARB, not to be confused with U of M). DTW's 50 missed the record by 3F, FNT's 43F missed the record by 1F.
  6. @TimBhas a few "issues" and banners he needs to carry so I just ignore him....
  7. High of 75 74/51 currently with a nice breeze. Absolutely fantastic.
  8. F****** yellow jackets. Followed the kids into the school. https://www.wcvb.com/article/ashland-school-bee-stings-first-day/65911119
  9. I woke up to 66 in the house. I considered turning on the heat but I just can't bring myself to do it in August.
  10. We're always on the lookout. If you know a spot let us know.
  11. 100%. I feel like John and Bluewave (Chris) act like we are in this new foreign world where up is down and down is up, but we have always had variance...just maybe its getting warmer and that's all. I understand some of these theories about how said warmth changes things and how the West warm pool/-PDO maybe be permanent etc, but we need some more time to more seriously entertain that IMO. Chris mores than John seems to disregard any possible avenue to favorable outcomes because "what used to be favorable no longer is in this new, warmer climate". I think that is a bit much.
  12. That should clip you edit: I forgot how far south Cotuit was - maybe not.
  13. Yeah, I'm down in Cotuit for the week and I see it to my north.
  14. .12+ with some good lighting/thunder.
  15. Back to floods, on the Alexander Mountain burn scar. I assume this is from 2020, that's 5 years ago
  16. Today
  17. Not a drop. We try again Friday.
  18. Absolutely. And notorious IN November breakouts fit my chasing style, sit and wait because most of the time you ain't gonna catch them lol
  19. Again, @TimB I'm not sure what's funny about this. You know who else is looking at a really chilly August? MDT, who's likely to finish with its 1st or 2nd coldest August in 30+ years. I'm not here to carry the banner for @ChescoWx or vouch for everything he says, but at this point you're just trying to be a d$ck.
  20. lol, nah, grass is just dormant. Lots of lawns up here look the same right now. I've made vast improvements over the years. Here's an older pic before the shrub garden went in. Pretty bleak back then. Then we put the garden in and I reseeded. It can look pretty good in Spring and Fall....when it rains.
  21. You will not get an argument from me that one can post anything now a days and data can be skewed to support multiple sides of a debate. Although, it would be hard to argue it has been an unusually pleasant week in many midwest locales for the last week of August. Remove the jargon listed above and think of how many people recall sweltering as the kids headed back to school and how refreshing this is as a contrast. And it does appear Lexington, KY did set a record for chill: NWS Louisville @NWSLouisville · 9h As of 5:15 AM, Blue Grass Field in Lexington has hit a low of 46 degrees (it may go colder!). This breaks the daily record of 49 from 1968. It is the lowest August temperature in Lexington since August 29th, 1986. #kywx
  22. Dew point of 46 is crazy for August. I’m not sure we’ve ever had an extended pattern this chilly and dry during meteorological summer.
  23. dude, just till that shit up, plant some trees and let nature take its course. be done with it, obviously you can't grow grass there.
