Yes. Even more rare than a WSW...frost and freeze warnings have been issued have been issues by the NWS. Good call. I normally plant my warm plants on Derby weekend. Not so today. The temp is 57F with the real feel at a toasty 49F. I honestly thought about building a fire in the fireplace. I ordered some affordable season extending gear. We will see how that garden, cold weather gear holds up tonight. The 18z RGEM gets down to 33 over TRI and the 18z GFS gets down to 32. Yikes.

Went up to Farmer Stan's in Upperco. Got more Lobelia Cardinalis, Bee Balm, Daisies, and Columbines. We have them in a cold frame right now for the cool weather tonight. I'm especially hopeful that I can keep the deer away this year and get my Russian Mammoth sunflowers to take. Last year, deer got inside our fence and ruined our entire garden in one night.

Well would ya look at that. MRX had to pull out the ol frost advisory for Northeast TN, the plateau, and SW VA. They had been acknowledging that they might have to issue one. It’s a conversation that probably belongs in banter to a degree, but there’s no mistaking this airmass. It’s quite cool out there today!
