  1. Past hour
  2. Ripping here in rockland. Heavy rain and loud thunder.
  3. Just dumping rain. Briefly had some 50 mph gusts
  4. It was not an obvious tornado day either, and in fairness to the forecast, that appears to be the only high-end tornado event today. (Yes, there was more widespread wind damage). It unfortunately got its act together in a very populated area.
  5. Well I can at least say with high confidence that it won't be a DJFM <-60dm anomaly in the N. Pacific. In these different times, analogs only go so far (our historical database is somewhat limited to larger cycles). It will certainly be interesting to see what goes on in the N. Pacific this Fall/Winter with the SOI as a top-5 negative event since the 1800s. The SOI being positive relative to ENSO was correlating with -PNA, but now that's not the case this year.
  6. Cloud to ground lightning strikes with that one
  7. I also enjoyed the relatively cool summer. The winter that followed proved to be fantastic.
  8. Very loud thunder with this one. Like a mile to my south Gotta be major flooding in the Colonia north edison area
  9. Looks like an at least EF-3 hit Appleton, WI
  10. .10" here, north side of town .37
  11. 2009 was one of my favorite summers back in Long Beach. Comfortable temperatures and smaller beach crowds. Really the last time that we had a cool June and July by long term climate standards. The 19th coolest June and July average temperature at Newark with records now back to the 1840s was very impressive. The actual coolest average temperature since 1940. 12. My cell and a bunch of others have SOS. No cell signal. Weird. In different towns too
  13. https://x.com/Real_Wookie/status/2081800492649206062/video/1
  14. Warning for northern Middlesex Pretty stationary
  15. This is about the time of year that I start looking for the first fall air mass on ext LR modeling. Nothing is clear right now. All eyes are on Alaska. If we can stick a ridge in Alaska during late August, that will be something we haven't done in long time, especially at that time of year for any length at all.
  16. Midnight high of 76. Been in the 60's today. Early Fall feel again. Chilly actually.
  17. A few storms popping up now
  18. Have been watching the cell just SW of Allentown. it seems to be reforming.
  19. I had my biggest Winter last year since returning from CA in 2017, 24" here. -AO was the reason for that: but it was a dry pattern. In normal precip we could have done better. Kind of disappointing the last 2 Winters have been cold with below average snowfall.
