Loudoun didn't send kids home early, but then my kids school ended up within one of the tornado warnings. No tornado of course, but kids were sitting in the hallway in the 'duck and cover' pose for 30 minutes. Ultimately not a huge deal, and since I was watching radar and know what to look for, I wasn't stressing about it at all. I also know most people not only don't watch the radar, but wouldn't know what to look for even if they did. Probably a pretty anxious time for a lot of parents today.

Filtered sun again and that line missed me to the north. The watch getting canx'd here is almost begging to be punched in the stomach by the front this evening. 300-600 cape into 500-700 helicity should be good enough for a few mini-supers, imo -- so long as we are indeed done with this overturning crap.

Winds kicking up down here pretty good now with gusts in the low 30s. Wind advisory may verify with fropa in a few hours even if storms aren't organized.

Webcams show switch to snow in Boone. Still rain here in Blowing Rock but I suspect for not much longer -
No complaints about the storm here. Got a washout earlier and some periodic rain since. Few rumbles of thunder. Just not severe…though probably classifies as strong. We’re kind of a joke when it comes to severe weather…it’s just not our strength. We’re much better at variety.

As others have noted, a pretty muted severe weather day so far, especially in PA. See what kind of winds the cold frontal rain band can generate this evening but it seems as though the convective severe threat has waned for many . -
Exactly. I get why they did. Others may not and I have it easy as I work from home so it’s no biggie to me that mine came home early. I understand it’s not as easy for others.

Looks like we ended up somewhere in the 10" range here. Very hard to tell exactly how much because of the drifting though. Sun is starting to peek through here, although we still have several hours of blowing snow to go before it finally calms down. Will be interesting to see how long this snowpack lasts both around here and in the extreme totals up north. With 3/25/23 it took about 5 days to melt everything but the largest piles. But that was a bit later in the year and a wetter snow with some rain as well on top of it. We are supposed to hit the 50s by Friday, but we will see how much the snowpack reinforces the cold air even with March sunlight. Crazy to think that this is about the same amount of sunlight that we had when were in the upper 80s in late September last year. All in all, a very memorable storm for the state of Wisconsin and one that will be talked about for a while like the 2018 storm.

CTP hasn't updated their AFD since 5am this morning. Seems like a good day to update this a little more often. -
And if they hadn’t and it was storming when kids let out, people would complain. Schools cannot win either way and always better to err on the side of caution than not

Just a ho hum day of showers in the Skook. Got .40" in the bucket, but nothing in the way of wind. 10.4 mph peak gust so far...lol -
If we can get a low to spin up on the front could see a few low top spins. Also each run increasing winds.
