  1. Past hour
  2. I’m not sure it’s routine for this long in SLK (especially starting that early) but even in EH the length of snow cover was impressive. It’s been a great winter.
  3. We don't get a setup like this often. The separate thread was worthwhile, as even during a fail mode like this we can look back and use the information to diagnose what went right and wrong. Too many people whine in here. Damage assessment crews are out right now, and we're still fielding some reports that are delayed as folks come home from work.
  4. Final storm stats here 0.48" rain, 6.3" snow. Also a trace of sleet thrown in as well. Guessing around 1.10" total QPF give or take.
  5. Back end is coming around but then flow snow kicks in.
  6. I got an idea. If you're excited about severe weather then maybe don't start a thread about a discrete threat. We all know that's the fastest way to deep-six a snowstorm, no reason severe should be any different.
  7. Has the lack of vertical instability on the storms been what caused nothing to bring down the shear winds? We had not much cape but that’s not a need when interacting with shear levels so curious why everything has been muted so much.
  8. Nice to watch it fall but its not sticking and already starting to stop here.
  9. After what was basically wall to wall arctic cold from the end of November into the first couple of days of March, I’d say the overwhelming majority of people in the east are ready for spring now. The Equinox is only 4 days away
  10. RIP Roger. So sad. What a good guy. Who is going to give us hope now that we will get 3 feet in every snowstorm. I for one am going to miss him.
  11. Yeah, that's pretty low. I'm up around 0.8 down here.
  12. What effect, if any, did SPC's change to criteria have on the recent warnings?
  13. Showers starting to pop on radar now.. should get a good soaking
  14. Nah, starting to get a bit breezy now behind the front. Everything’s been under 30mph so far today.
  15. Not sure if this is what you're referring to, but absent surprise/late developing events, local forecast offices in areas with such high population density don't have the luxury to wait a few hours prior to issuing watches, guidance, etc. There's a ton of coordination that happens behind the scenes that goes into this stuff.
