    This was the chance for historic snow depths and cold. There are no obvious snow threats beyond this one on the horizon but it looks seasonably cold and northern-stream dominated. We'll probably have some snow chances in February, but the month is the beginning of melt season.

    Looks similar to 6z. Doesn't gain latitude like GFS and CMC so it's glancing blow for SE VA. Still should get some good amounts with high SLR but nothing like the GFS and CMC is showing

    If we can get half of the big coastals, it's a win. March 2018 had 4 biggies; we had a trace from #1 and zero from #4, but the 2 middle ones brought 36.4". One could dream of catching all 4 but that merely spoils the pleasure of the ones that hit.

    Pet peeve but I thought it pretty much universal thinking to go from lighter color to darker color for small to higher measures. These maps always throw me for loop.
