Even just modest snowstorms in La Ninas are rare and to be appreciated any time they happen. This is missing Feb 12th from last year, but here's a list of every 5"+ La Nina snowstorm at DCA in the 21st century. The 2010s had just one instance.

Lmao, VA is ground zero
-
I was over at Ray's archives and there were 5 snowstorms listed in Feb. 2010 - which one you talking about ?

MJO 6 to 8 ftw?

Frigid, windy day with some blowing snow in my neighborhood. The lake effect pixies plus blowing snow are making for tough conditions when you get into the northern part of St Joseph County. There’s a pile up on the Toll Road right now. I can’t even imagine how bad it must be along the west coast of Michigan today.

12z Euro AI is a CLASSIC Mid Atlantic snowstorm. Primary low drives into Tennessee, then hands of everything to the coastal quickly and cleanly. 8" - 12" cold powder, weekend snow.
-
Probably better than 10:1 ratios for alot of the storm

The 12z AIFS just moved off its mark. Much stronger high presence.
-
Doesn't really change the final result, the ECAIFS is notably slower with the arrival of the event on Saturday.

It looks like it ticked south a smidge, but it reeaaaalllly wants to get the big hp out in front of the system and then have the LP attack it. -

AIFS still a big cutter but much better than last night. Similar to UK and CMC. It held the Baja back more. But still brings it all with it -
No wonder it was delayed lol. It was pumping out 3 massive snow storms.

Good to know
