  4. The NWS defines a Freeze as 32 or below. In your example the 32.4 gets rounded to 32 and would be considered a Freeze. 30 (29.7) here now so a Hard Freeze isn't likely at this point.
  5. Heat is cranking. Funny to think I was still swimming in the Sound less than two weeks ago.
  6. Light frost on car. Temps in car between 37-41 between Brunswick-Frederick.
  7. The actual winter temperatures were significantly colder during the 1990s than since the warmer baseline shift in 2015-2016. 10. 26 for the low this morning. Bumped the heat on…65 in the house.
  11. 32/26… looking around other stations, not as uniformed in terms of lows. Local inversions happening with the cold sinks?
  12. We won't see a frost in our region until December lol. Not even cold here. 42
  13. Today
  14. Cold start at 26°. It'll be nice to get back in the 50s today.
  15. The 30C warm pool is actually at 140W. I disagree about the MC. I think the MC is going to be a complete non factor this winter. As @GaWx showed, the MC/IO has been totally non-existent since this event started in the spring, unlike 23-24 and 15-16. I think it stays that way. We also have classic +IOD forcing showing up now

  17. Right....about 150W....that is what was in the MC previously. I have a question for you guys..name me all of the El Niño events with a very warm Kuroshio current east of Japan like we have now....then, once you do that, do me a solid and eliminate the ones with ample MC contribution and let me know the ultimate list. I think the folks whacking it to subsurface erotica need to remember that absolutely nothing operates in a vacuum...not even the most intense El Niño in history.
  18. We don't know how it's going to work out....maybe it won't end up mattering and the eastern convection will dominate for a 1997 replica, but I think ignoring alternative outcomes is silly. You can't just pretend the dual forcing isn't there on modeling.
