In terms of 95°+ days it was pretty high ranking for many locations. Areas away from the sea breeze made it to 35 days of 90° and over 40 days at the Philly stations. But this would have been a cooler summer in the past during developing super El Niños. Most summers following super El Niños had more heat than the one while it was still developing like this year. So we would expect more heat than this one during the next few summers. Since the ridge axis this summer was out near 100W, the strongest heat this summer in our region was from Philly to ACY. We have been getting the stalled fronts with too much convection here to have the kind of heat areas just to our south did. The start of September looks like more of the same with the main heat dome staying to our west. Maybe we can get a day or two next week near 90° but it could stay closer to Philly. Have a very happy birthday coming up. You pick the perfect spot at a higher elevation which is cooler than areas just to your south and east. Heck of a storm. We lost power for several hours overnight. Tons of thunder and we ended up with 0.94" of rain. I think that should get me through the rest of the growing season.

It was a solid main batch with lightning and a bit of hail then two more smaller showers totaling 0.61. Nickle and dimed my way to 1.14" for the week so far.

Already disgusting out at 530am....gross.

Glad there is hail for the scallop fishermen. Good for them.

DPs yesterday exceeded 75 here in Garrett County which is very high for us. 2 rounds of storms, neither of which amounted to much other than 1.30" of welcome precip. Looking forward to true Chamber of Commerce weather Sunday/Monday and the subsequent calm that will once again descend on the Deep Creek Lake area post Labor Day.

Since i'm already on the bender, I figured why not watch hall y'alls winter forecast. That old four eyed dork is looking as lean and handsome as ever I must say. Anywho, he expects the northeast and mid atlantic will get a snow or ice storm that exceeds expectations. That sums up his winter outlook for our area.
