Good Greenland ridging but lower heights in AK probably means cross polar flow is reduced a bit. Still looks conducive to threats though. Not torch at all. Can’t ask for much more.

Nothing has changed since yesterday. This is still a snowstorm once you get 40 miles or more north and northwest of the city (Orange, Sussex and Putnam). South of there is a snow/mix to rain. Not really sure why the 0z run of the op EURO is getting posted this morning instead of the new 6z run, which is clearly coming more into line with all the other guidance. It was the most SE of all other guidance at 0z and therefore was an outlier. This was/is in no way, shape or form a NYC snowstorm

I'm not sure what happened to the WWA, went outside and if we got any precip I can't tell. I did discover that mice have found a way into the roof space in the cabin. Need to go out this morning and hunt for any missed openings around the perimeter.

They did it when I was a kid growing up big time here…does help you remember them some times(the big ones). I mean some still reference Nemo(Feb 13) and Juno(Jan 15) here using the names. But yes, I agree. The blizzard of 78 here in CT was named Larry…Blizzard Larry. The big storm right before blizzard of 78 here was called storm Jerry…lol. Still remember that from when I was a kid.

Sorry to hear about your loss. My grandmother’s funeral was during a snowstorm in 1987. I was a pole barer. They did their best clearing off the church steps. But all I could think about walking down them wearing dress shoes with no traction was slipping and dropping the casket…I’d never be invited to another family function again!

Tough call for schools Tuesday? Looks like snow from 4-8am or so before transitioning to rain? Id guess FCPS in MD closes while most other districts go with a two hour delay and then reassess? .
