The SPC put out a meso discussion this afternoon for southeast Iowa into northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin, which included an 80% chance of a watch, which seemed odd. They were focusing on a band of cumulus through this area. However, the area is capped and no models have been predicting anything around here, only northern and western Iowa tonight. Nothing ever developed and the cumulus faded away.

Looks like 97 was the high here in Philly today; the humidity really took your breath away, stifling... lots of plan changes for the 250th celebrations this Friday/Saturday due to the heat. Some things moved indoors, and many events moved to around 8pm.

Holy shit. Intense straightline winds. Wow. Branches down. Still have power though. That was whiteout straight-line wind damage that fanned out on the east slope and into the valley.

Some big wind coming your way… probably right on the county line at Lawn Rangers and that area on the high spot of RT 100. Just came over the spine and accelerated ESE.

It’s not good form to put panels on an old roof. I would not do that and recommend against that. it’s not a big deal to pay someone to fix things a buyer requests when selling a house. I wouldn’t buy a house that needed a roof without factoring the roof replacement cost into the purchase price. i also agree that forests should not be clear cut for industrial solar power generation, but property rights folks might disagree with that. -
I made a poor mans DFH Raison D'Etre by plopping some fresh raisins into a glass and pouring a 90 min IPA over it, giving it swirl, and letting it warm a bit. Pretty good!
