Yes, and that text was why I responded to @candersonthe way that I did. The text specifically mentions that the storm in progress was severe. -
AL 2011 was 4 to 5 sigma, IL 2026 is 3.9 to 4 sigma. KS 08 was ~3 sigma and TX 15 was ~2 sigma. Your instinct was on point, AL11 is still the king, IL26 in 2nd place. there's still time lol

There was definitely a Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued. I saw it on CTPs site, WGAL, scrolling on my FIFA game I was watching, etc. Here's the text: The National Weather Service in State College PA has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... East central Lancaster County in south central Pennsylvania... * Until 445 PM EDT. * At 421 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Gap, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... New Holland, Gap, Churchtown, Intercourse, Blue Ball, Goodville, and White Horse. Radar has indicated rotation within this severe thunderstorm. Although a tornado is not immediately likely, tornadoes can develop quickly during severe thunderstorms. This includes The Pennsylvania Turnpike from mile markers 293 to 295. Stay inside a well built structure and keep away from windows. Very heavy rainfall is occurring with this severe thunderstorm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Issued by NWS State College PA for Lancaster County. -
And the leaves are getting that leathery look

.33 so far today
-
Up to. 33 for today. 36 for the event so far
-
The 0.28" reported at 7 am got me over 2" for the month (2.12"). About another .05-.06 in gauge eyeballing it from the kitchen window since. A light rain falling currently at 10:15 am and a muggy 66.8/66.0 degrees.
-
more liquid steaming towards the area from PA - but how much of it will survive the trip ? Seems the conveyor belt of moisture is drying up somewhat as it moves into central NJ....

A bit over 1" is fine by me. Don't need the flooding and runoff, just a nice soaking. -
York/Cumberland Counties with 2-2.5", gauge here had 0.25", ranking 83rd of 92 cocorahs reports. The bottom 9 were many miles NE from here, mostly Aroostook. June average total is a bit over 5" - still in play but probably won't reach it. On average we get 3 months/year with 5"+; most recent fiver was May 2025.

0.67" total so far. Close to what was projected

The oversized sub-tropical bugs and insects are pretty neat to see too. My favorite group of the bunch is the giant flying cockroaches… July is the peak month to see them doing their thing both indoors and outdoors, fueled by the high humidity from the daily storms and heat. I hear July is peak Mosquito season too down there. Have fun but stay safe JackStraw

The cell did you explode over Lancaster City (only witnessed via radar). Looked like hail too. But no warnings issued. . -
Nice steady light rain. Good for the garden and flower beads. .14” in my station.

Decent steady rain, though.

Very exciting storm. So when does the sun return?
