Driving up 287 into NY today from NJ I noticed some color starting to show up on many trees.  I wonder if we will get some nice colors this year.  Last year was blah imo, 2 years ago was awesome.

Yeah we should.  Plenty of rain/no drought and temps haven't been too hot. Looks like a really great stretch after this week too. As long as it's not stormy we should have a great season

Wettest September on record for ISP. This was the 3rd consecutive month with part of the area recording 10”+ of rain. So plenty of clouds and onshore flow kept the minimum temperatures up and the maximums down.

If we can switch to a more sunny days/crisp nights pattern I think it will pop.  Definitely no lack of moisture.

No  December 1992 stalled just to the east of Delaware for two days. Winds gusted to hurricane force with very heavy rain and temperatures fell into the upper 30s here. On the third day the storm stalled again this time just south of Cape Cod and we all switched to snow and it snowed all day with temperatures just below freezing about an inch or two of snow. We had gusty winds for 5 days here in total. This storm made landfall on the NJ coast no way it would be snow in the winter.  You need a track near Cape cod not to change over to rain in the coastal areas.

 Chris is this for average temperature over the entire year? Does the Lake Harmony temperature and coop record only go back to 2020?

Yeah. But since there are so many missing days some years, it’s not an accurate annual average temperature. The average only includes the days with actual data. Lake Harmony only has snowfall starting with 2020-2021 and no temperatures.

Please see here (link below). This is a rain track for us as it was inland for the majority of the storm. The noreaster we just had was off shore for the majority of the event.

I think they changed the forecast, as of last night today was forecasted to be mostly sunny.  This morning was patchy fog and then partly sunny.  Current forecast is now partly sunny.

That's a blown forecast IMO.  Hope the clouds thin out soon for you, we're finally getting the sun out over LI.

storm is still being blocked from moving fast enough away from us because of the strong blocking the last few days so it is weakening and spinning itself out more or less - beginning to wonder if the clouds will still be lingering tomorrow especially in the northern and eastern areas of the region - this satellite image is not encouraging - this will have an effect on high temps

Been having some color here by me for 2 weeks now.  Mainly younger trees.
