The May error is the problem all season.  You make that play, Cano doesn't get rattled and they probably get out of it.

Or, Cano could just not suck. He's been hit or miss all season. Yeah the error hurts, but you gotta just move on. Too many head cases on the pitching staff. Baz is another who gets on himself for something he can't control. Tough loss, but team is playing better overall. Just have to keep winning series.

His initial prognosis was 2-5 years to live. He lived for almost 20 years with this awful disease. He played like a Raven. What a fighter. RIP.

My favorite bit of sports trivia is about him. He's the only player who ever has played for a Grey Cup winner and Super Bowl champion from a team in the same city. He was on the Stallions in 1995 and of course the Ravens in Super Bowl XXXV (and made the very first tackle in that game!)

After the proposal is published in the Federal Register, which is expected later this week, the Forest Service will accept public comments before making the rule final.”

I’d implore everyone to let their voice be known as our administration plans to divide and then cut down our oldest forests; despite the fact that currently existing national forest roads are hemorrhaging money and resources.

Os just can't move past that 2 games under .500 mark.

Looks like there going to be back to 4 games under after tonight.

Classic. Couldn't hit with RISP again. Two times with bases full or 2-on, no one out....scored zero runs. We will look back on this season and see all the missed opportunities. Cano blowing yesterday was brutal. I would put it as the worst loss of the season.

Nope--and at this point in a season, if a team hasn't moved past it (like Boston did last month) they probably won't. It's been at least 10 opportunities we've had to move past it and everything something dumb happens, lol Just not meant to be...but I'm hoping it'll be worth it if another losing record compels ownership to do the thing a la Biscotti with Harbaugh last year (all that crap is looking like it was worth it!) Rubinstein already said he's embarrassed by where we were at the trade deadline...maybe finishing below .500 could be the straw.

Baz probably wishes he had been traded.

4-13 lol. Never any run support. Pathetic.

Yeah it awful.

Those numbers could easily be flipped around.

Really good decision to lock him up long term.

His stuff is electric.

After eating a turkey club for lunch, I'm having a vegetarian dinner with massive fresh local Brussels spouts, oven roasted with salt and pepper and a bourbon-maple syrup glaze, along with quickly sautéed sugar snap peas in butter. And ofc an old fashioned. All healthy and delicious!

My Twins swept by the phuglies then turn around and sweep the Braves...make it make sense

So many bad teams. The final WC spot in the AL will probably go to a team 5 games under 500, or worse. But this is good for baseball! If they want to be like the NBA. Remember when playing a 162 game season actually meant something? They should cut it back to 100, and even that's too long when so many teams get in anyway.

NFL is king and always will be. Just give us an 18 game season please? Playing an odd number of games is fucked up.

Look at this: NWS in my neck of the woods mentions Nino - BUT I am not getting my hopes up.

I am an excitable guy by nature, but I am also a realist.

This is a record Nino that is extremely east-based. This means we will not get much rain in Austin from this Nino thru later 2027.

But watch out Southeastern US and Mid Atlantic. This record Nino has got your name on it and it's got one hell of a roided up STJ.

This Nino means bisnass. Get your arks ready in the DMV and the Southeast and Mid South. or move RIGHT NOW to the Mountains. This STJ means serious serious business and it will not spare and it will show no mercy and pull no punches. Some communities will get drowned by catastrophic flooding and it will last for a long time. Some neighborhoods in the Mid South, Southeast and Mid Atlantic will receive so many rounds of rain, that they WILL BE WRITTEN OFF. It's really too damned Bad I live too damn far west for this. I wanted to walk around and admire rising water levels while blasting Gen Z tracks, especially Playboi Carti, Kodak Black and Ken Carson. These songs and raps remind me of disasters in the 2020s.

.LONG TERM...
(Friday through next Wednesday)
Issued at 123 PM CDT Wed Aug 19 2026

The 500mb ridge steadily migrates eastward and by Friday/Saturday,
it will be centered over the Texas Panhandle. At the 700mb level,
the thermal ridge will be centered directly over Texas, so strong
subsidence and sunny skies should be the normal through the weekend.
Heat advisories will continue this weekend and actual air
temperatures may approach warning levels (105+) for the Austin metro
this weekend. Trends will be monitored for a possible upgrade to
Extreme Heat Warning, but for now, expect highs in the 99-104 range
for most locations through Sunday. Unfortunately, despite a brief
lull and advisory level temperatures Monday-Tuesday, ridging will be
in even greater control by mid to late next week, and highs in the
100-106 range look like a good bet. At this distance, little relief
is in sight through the end of August, but a pattern change may be
in the works as El Nino continues to strengthen over the Equatorial
Pacific, which may result in increased rain chances in early to mid-
September.
