was legit chilly in the apartment this am

Yeah, 49 when the dog took me for an unexpected walk around 6am. I already packed away my sweatshirts. Grabbed a Carhardt out of the closet and ended up sweating lol. Top tier next 7 days except for the frequent rain chances. Rubber band weather.

The only thing is, this isn't a cool June.

June is running +4.0 at ORD through the 14th.

Just seems like its  been several Junes where we had a 7-10 day stretch of 70’s with periods of rain. Feels like most recent June’s brought on summer heat full bore.

Long as we don't repeat the endless smoky skies and hazardous air quality of June, 2023.

It would be nice to avoid smoke season altogether this year,  Last July was horrible as well.  Every cold front brought dense smoke and every ridge brought haze and humidity.  I forgot what deep blue sky looked like for a bit.

Loved the sky today, so many storm clouds encircling. Saw multiple anvils, a quick t-storm just 1 flash, then cloudy til 10pm when we got our delayed 1mm of rain. Multi lines in SON today.

Heaviest rains in the coming historic days will be during night. 18z Euro has a 984mb low very close to me on Thurs morning, easily the deepest for June. TWN was using David Roth's maps showing the departures.

Both TWN and WUN show far more sun today than the past while and even getting warmish to 23C. TWN has gusts to 80 km/h just after midnight for 3 hr but the sus part is sustained (40 km/h) and gusts are stable during the early hours, there s no way with a strong low and dynamic system like that. Gusts may get even higher.

WUN has my lowest at 1am at 989mb.

TWN was wildly off with temps this week; about 5C off a few recent days including now.

Showers this morning here with a T in town so far, but NC MN got a bit more and they need it being in a D2 drought. Hoping for a wet day across the area. Will be chilly along the shore with NE winds off the Lake. Highs upper 50's/low 60's.
