dmillz25
Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn Grade: A 47.3” of snow, 2 major snowstorms including a blizzard, plenty of cold and saw thundersnow for the first time in 8 years. Would love to get to 50” but I doubt it
the_other_guy
Westchester NY A- 2 week warmth in January, followed by 70 air in early March really pulled down the grade. The early warmth really killed ski season after a great year and that particularly annoyed me. There was also a 3 week period of clinging to old snow in extreme cold that was saved by a January storm
Dark Star
B+ A very good winter indeed, based on 66 years of observation. In relative terms it was an "A".

Really a brutal end to winter Seems like they all end early these days....we got the 2/22 storm which really saved things, but typically seems to wind down late Feb-when was the last time we had March snow? 2019 here.
Snowshack
Wading River, LI. B+ seems right. Nothing wrong with that, just not quite top tier for snowfall or cold.

Really a brutal end to winter March isn’t meteorological winter. 3 below average temp months in winter and well above average snow (Central Park probably has over 45” given undermeasurements) makes it high end.

Also 1st big storm had a bit too much sleet for my liking. Sleet helped with the snowcover I'm an A as well being in the same county. Ill add multiple lows below zero as well with the coldest being -7°. As of yesterday, ice was still on Boonton Lake that you can see from 287. It must have been really thick for it to still be there after the temps recently.

It occurred to me that for one to have experienced 1995-1996 with some degree of understanding, you would have to be at least 40-45 years old now. For anyone younger, check out that season's frozen events on Ray's Winter Archive; November to April. I was born in 1988 (close enough), and can say 2013-14 and 2014-15 were just as great as 1995-96. Those seasons got started with a cold November, but really hit their strides in January, and didn't really let up until the end of March.

Definitely among the best in your teen-adult years. Gonna' give the "+" to 95-96 still. Just one fact, 40 to 50% more snow at CPK versus 13-14 and 14-15. btw my son lives in Philadelphia now, so I this Giants/Mets fan can't dislike the Eagles and Phillies as much. lol
