What do you look forward to from now into late next Fall? Its all we got(plus tropical), which both tend to fail more prolifically than winter weather. That leaves bigtime heat. We do that very well! Embrace it.

Not when I'm driving 2 a.m. for work on those dark roads. Especially if the thunderstorm and lightning is bad with wind. Getting caught in possible tornado at that time would be hard to get out of the way.

It's very interesting, but the outcome can be devastating in many ways. Its weird- from a weather geek perspective we love it and tend to want it to happen- as long as it occurs elsewhere and not in our yards lol. Morbid.

in all seriousness, I would be excited for this period if it were not the end of March: teleconnections are decent with - WPO, + PNA, AO neutral, and - NAO; MJO progression 8-1-2; cold air to tap with anomalies 20 degrees plus below normal.  It could all fall apart tomorrow but will be watching....

Early March Stratosphere warming is starting to connect with -NAO on long range models towards the end of March.

Not really a good N. Hemisphere 500mb pattern until the NAO goes negative the last week of March

The SW, US ridge as a dominant factor is the best going for us, as a we drop a trough over and east of it, the pattern of the Winter.
