I can't get good afternoon snow to save my life

I don’t think I’ve ever remember going from 80 to such a cold front. Snowing at 39 degrees!!!?? Wow pretty cool.

After 2 days of highs of 80, I have fatties flying (earlier had some trace pingers).  Made it up to 64 as a high before the bottom fell out.  Currently SN with little or no stickage, and 35 with dp 33.

But Ralph, that’s unpossible. Snow can’t accumulate after March 1st

Yeah, that would be like if in the summer we went from 100 one day to 59 and rainy the next.

It does have an effect drastically. Mid Jan with these rates/temps, roads covered without question, not even close. Now, white rain, it's rough at this point on the calendar...

I'll give props to winter for taking another swing after some 80 degree days, hopefully not the last swing and hopefully the next one at night. A RedSky special indeed....

Yeah, the high temperature for the month of January was 57 (on January 14). The ground is easily cold enough following that to get a snow accumulation with a mid-January sun angle. That's simply not happening today after the 83-degree high temps the last few days and a mid-March sun angle.

Snow is coming down pretty good now.  33F

So far got a 0.25" that coated the coldest surfaces (i.e., the car tops), with some dusting of the mulch and grass that quickly melts.  But what is on the cars has mostly turned to liquid mush.  Currently SN- and 34 with dp 34.

Temperature down to 33F here and snowing pretty good. Non-paved surfaces have a slushy coating. It is nearly 50 degrees colder now compared to this time yesterday!

Ended up with 0.8".  Season total is 30.8".

0.7" here, seasonal total is 35.1" of snow. Winter grade of A is intact, lol.

For sure.  Strongest thunderstorm in 11 years (wind-wise), and then snow cover in less than 24 hours?   This winter is even dying well.

Back edge is moving through, the sky is brightening, and the sun is trying to come out.   Ended up with 0.25" of snow, trace of sleet/ip, and 0.26" of rain/snow/ip melt in the bucket.  Anything that had coated or dusted any surfaces, has melted.

Currently overcast but clearing and 35, with dp 35.

Went to bed last night with the window cracked open and ceiling fan on. Less than 24hrs later it was snowing sideways.

Other than a little slop on the car, no accumulation here to speak of. Just white rain. 36F

0.1 inches of snow here. Not bad after lower 80s yesterday and low 60s early this morning.
