I agree.  But the NWS issuing warnings/advisories etc….I think folks kind of feel it makes things official.  Like, they are the pros, so if they think it, then they must know type a thing.  But ya…the weather doesn’t give a shit what BOX does.

Because NWS is the public authority on weather forecast and warnings. That's what official means

BOX would be the authority over the zones they cover. Doesn't mean they are any more accurate than the Mets here though

Definitely walking a tightrope here to get a sustained winter period heading into the new years. We need not only for things to break right with this storm, but also need enough of a secondary to pop for the next storm to limit snow melt. Not impossible, but I’m keeping expectations low for now.
