Yep, same here in Bayside. Reached just about 6" on the dot around 11:40. Has compacted about 1 inch or so since then. Lots of 4-6" reports throughout the boroughs except a few pockets like CPK, LGA. But is is NYC's official measuring site so for all intents and purposes, when people look back on this storm in the future, they'll think we all only got 2-3" lol

It's maddening but yet it's seldom addressed.

They did try a few times in the 2010's to fix it. Taking away the measurements from the Central Park zookeeper was a good first step. I'm not sure who thought that was a good idea in the first place and why it went on for so long. They then gave it to the Conservancy and they were solid for a couple of years but they don't seem to give a sh!t anymore. I forgot what year it was, maybe 2017/18, NOAA adjusted three Central Park totals at the end of the Winter because they were so egregiously wrong.

I've discussed it with them many times through the years and for a while they listened, but they've worn me down. I now just try to ignore it, but it's hard to when it's the so called official measurement for all of NYC.

Everyone north, south, east and west of them got more snow but hey, the park didn't record 4 inches so it must mean something!

We have to come to terms with the fact that the park is no longer a reliable weather station, whether it's temperatures, wind data or snowfall.

was picking my daughter up on way to hoboken and heard wnyc report ridiculously low amounts, with saying suburbs got 2-4....shit there looked to be more than that in hoboken even; we had over 6 in middlesex co....going with RU's meticulous measurement in metuchen of over 6....

My Freaking wind gauge I think is frozen on the roof lol. Frozen at 11 am

Don’t feel bad.  My weather station on Fire Island 100 yds from the ocean was frozen since midnight.  It only thawed a couple of hours ago.  I have a weather station and have seen it freeze however to have one at the ocean front and see this happen was quite unusual.  It’s very rare that the wind is light enough for this to happen at the ocean front.

Radar indicates a nice aftershock in eastern Nassau County.  Any ground truth to this or is it a mirage?

Just left my parents’ in Lindenhurst (SW Suffolk) to head back to the city.  Can confirm that light snow was falling while I was waiting on the platform.
