I must point out the irony that today is the first official day of winter and the 7am snow depth has fallen to 0 at DTW for the first time since 7am November 29.

With Friday's 1.7" of snow, GRR has passed 1905-1906 ending any talk of futility before winter officially started.  While this last week has been a dud it has been a pretty good start to winter so far and looking forward to hopefully much more snow to come this winter.

Christmas Day eve into Friday may be a wet snow, icy system for N MN - N WI (& UP MI). Looks like I did a decent job with the Holiday forecast in sniffing out the pattern.

Models continue to fade the Christimas warmth.  A few days ago, the GFS and Euro had low 60s up to Cedar Rapids.  Now, both are down to low 40s, and the 60s are way down in Missouri.  Friday is looking much cooler, too.

We're gonna finish 2025 with about 30.5" of precip.  About 5 inches down for the year.

DTW is at 12.9" which an exact tie for their 1936-37 futility mark. The average last snowfall is nearly 4 months away.

After having 60s advertised for over a week either Christmas day or the day after, now we may not hit 40 lol.

If we didn't have bad luck… you know the saying lol. 
 

I found it interesting that every other Christmas Day since ~2018 has been 50°+ over here per a local met. If I get some time later I’ll check that out.
