Somehow it's still 10x better than nada!

So how was your wedding vis-a-vis the weather and in general?

Thanks for asking, it went well! There was some light rain during the ceremony but we had enough umbrellas to go around and since we didn’t care everyone followed our lead and wasn’t upset or concerned about it. Wasn’t super prepared to be holding an umbrella myself during the ceremony but it’s all good

Got up at 5 and just missed getting to see snow falling, but enjoying the coating I got. Latest HRRR says maaaybe Ill get some mood flakes in a bit if that stuff currently around west chester can make it north enough as it goes.

Here’s hoping we can get some good trends or an overperformer from at least 1 of the 2 disturbances mid week and next weekend.

Now for a day of housework, outdoor xmas lights, and conference championships. Cheers :drunk:

Most locations reported some measurable snow overnight with 0.3" of snow here in East Nantmeal. This is our 3rd winter event of the young winter season. Of note yesterday was the coldest early season day in the 23 years I have lived here in East Nantmeal. In addition to the record low maximum (25.7) we also recorded a record low for the date (19.7). Our unseasonably cold start to December will continue for at least the next week. With some of the longer-term guidance indicating we will continue to see below normal temperatures right through the entire Christmas Holiday Season. We turn a bit milder over the weekend with highs both today and tomorrow well into the 30's but still several degrees below normal for the date. We turn sharply colder again on Monday and Tuesday with highs both days struggling to get to freezing. Our next rain chance is Wednesday afternoon and the next light snow chance on Thursday night.

Off and on snow showers this morning, have a nice dusting in shady areas. 2 days in a row!!!

32F currently with a few flakes falling.

Partly sunny 36f like Shazam any ice snow gone!!! Like it was a dream!  Steam rising from roof tops and cars.

0.02” of snow and 0.01” of freezing rain / drizzle VICTORY!!! And it’s only December 6th what can go wrong.

So 23 years ago 2002?  Interesting tibit then let’s see what happens?  I can see it happening for sure!

The available data indicates that
1.1 inches of snow fell on Christmas Day 2002.
More specifically regarding December 2002:
  • On December 5th, 0.44 inches of precipitation was recorded during a heavy snow event.
  • Around the Christmas holiday, Philadelphia experienced a total of 1.4 inches of new snow accumulation, with the snow changing to rain at times.

We are that good. ;)

And sure enough...

My little IP cams had clips of some cars driving nearby at around 10 pm and nada, and then another clip around 12:35 am and there was the dusting on the car, after which a pickup with a salt spreader came through my parking lot around 2 am.  Ended up with a 0.1" surprise on my car and colder surfaces like the mulch and some grass.

Bottomed out at 27 this morning and am currently at my high (so far) of 39.  I did have some white rain and ZR at around 10 am this morning, where the sun did pop out about 30 minutes later but has since retreated behind some clouds at post time.
