Yeah EPS is still a bit dicey, but it def trended colder in the LR.

Super localized cold pockets being noted around town.  Cars have been picking up -12 to -18 readings this evening in low lying spots.  Big jumps in short distances.  Another friend saw -16F less than an hour ago.

14°  here. No wind.  Sitting outside with no hat or gloves and it feels comfortable. If anything, I think wind chill factor is underrated.

Yeah even N ORH county might get some rain....or at least very wet snow that prob isn't really sticking well. Might go an inch or two of paste there as the onset looks marginally cold enough. The system itself inst very impressive. Hard to get excited when you have the midlevel center NW of Ottawa....you're trying to get moisture advection on a dry wind direction. Western slopes might do a little better in that type of setup. Someone like @wxmanmitch(Mitch in S VT) will prob get like 8-10" while 10 miles east gets a sloppy inch with some drops mixed in late.

Stations here are running in the -9 to -10°F plus so far this month, Not fake.

Scandi ridging retrograding as we get closer has been a theme so far this month. Also hard to torch really hard across northern tier when you have a strongly -WPO like we’ve seen. 

Assuming the NHL has some private meteorologists, I’m sure they have their fingers crossed looking at this and are rooting for a GFS like solution for New Years. Who schedules outdoor hockey games in southern Florida? Idk if it’s January.

I’m praying my car’s battery also finds it fake tonight.   It struggled the other day and took a couple tries to turn over.  Only 3 years old so might need to get that looked at.

WXW2 is -2.9/-5.4. SLK is -11/-17 with mist.

BDL should be about -10 for the month after tomorrow.  In this area I believe the earliest safe pond ice in my 27 years here.  Only drawback is most were already frozen by the time the snow fell on 12/2 lol.  Incredible start to winter.

When you radiate to 20° that’s one thing, but when you’re radiating below zero, it’s man cold with or without wind.

We'll clipper flipper at some point prolly.  Hope not but that's kinda how I see it going.  Maybe the backstop going up will help the coast, at least initially.

I don’t think Mcavoy should be coming back this soon, but I think he is trying to get a spot on the Olympic team. But he lost 20 pounds and I don’t think is still able to eat solid food. I can’t see him being able to play the 23:46 he’s averaging a game.
