It’s one of those accurite ones so not like a Davis shield. It’s more because I’m a weenie and just curious. My brother-in-law also bought a fixer upper last year right on the water in N Plymouth. I’m pushing him to get a Davis because I’m sure he’ll have some good obs. It’s got some trees in his yard, but he’s like a couple hundred yards from the water in about 50 feet up or so.

Up here it’s a little easier to do if you base it on snow pack streaks. Like going DJFM with at least some X value of pack. We have the ability to minimize nasty cutters here like in 07-08. Yeah down here not really sure you can really define that. but this makes sense now. I remember a comment from FXWX yesterday that said it's exceptionally tough down here...which it is. Never mentioned snow.

Maybe it’s gotten a little later, but a day per decade isn’t that big of a deal. That’s not too bad considering the background fall warming. It may look a lot different if I change it to 1” or 4” too. Ironically it seems the worst offending decade was the 1990s…no October or early Nov snows and plenty of late ones. You wouldn’t think so in an otherwise fairly snowy decade.

Kitz Craver
2 hours ago, Damage In Tolland said: Absolutely. That’s what recall so fondly and miss the most. December’s were more often snowy and sometimes so were Novembers . It’s the whole premise for my wasting winter if you wait until January. Two months wasted with only two months of winter left and if lucky a Morch that snows a few times and melts quickly . I absolutely agree with this albeit going against climo in CT. If you go through the entire holiday season without a winter event, it’s hard to say the winter was epic when your first snow was Jan 28th. It’s just not the same, even though the science says ain’t happening James.

Typhoon Tip
yeah, 19 here. Saturday bottomed out around 29. As I passed by ponds en route to disk golf I noticed ice had crept out about 4 to 6' from the shores, so thin it was gone by early afternoon. Hadn't seen that in recent autumns (I'm the type of nerd that noticed little details like that). Recent Novembers hadn't provided for that intermediate stage in inland ice, but this year hearkens back to that. I didn't venture out this morning but I'm sure at 19 there was probably more than just shore ice.
