Back to seasonable temps after record highs on Oct 4 in the mid 80's around my area. Couple hundredths of rain with the front moving through here yesterday. Pretty dry looking for the next few days.

Wish Hibbing n I-Falls had longer records, but it is what it is.

It seems I say it most years but this warm fall should make for a rockin lake-effect season. Most of the lake-effect belts north and east of me cashed in last year. We just couldn't get the good dynamics on the southern end of Lake Michigan last winter. Too many glancing blows. Hoping for better arctic blasts this winter.

This is OT here, but informative. Windows 10 is no longer receiving updates unless you extend for another year. I went into my settings, and checked under Windows Update, and I was eligible for a free extension. I have a MS acct with my computer backed up with them, so I qualified for the free ext. of critical updates. Must do this by Oct 13 to get it free.

said plenty of people. many people are ready for Fall and did not enjoy that weather.

While I understand people enjoy the colors, there is nothing else about fall that is appealing. Okay cool enjoy the colors but once that's done, I think most are ready to fast forward to snow.

I am ready for snow November 1st. But I enjoy the cool crisp days with the color. Which looks like we will have this week.

If it wasn't for the chance of thunderstorms that come with the heat and humidity i wouldn't find anything about summer appealing.

And around  500,000 hunters in the state im sure enjoy more then just the colors of fall.

Some locations were able to sneak in a couple of early October 90°'s this past weekend.

MDW was one of those locations, with a high of 90° on Friday.

Different strokes I suppose. I enjoy summer as much as snow in the winter. I am not a hunter. Not sure how anyone finds sitting on your ass watchin your life pass you by hoping you can shoot an animal appealing. I prob would enjoy being away from people and enjoying the nature aspect of hunting. But I'd imagine most would rather fast forward through the rest of october/november.

The things I like most about fall don't happen nearly often enough, but some of the best severe weather/wind events have occurred in October/November. Unfortunately, they're few and far between.

Examples:

1. 10/24/01 Tornado outbreak in Northern IN
2. 10/18/07 Nappanee EF3 tornado
3. 10/26/10 High Wind Event
4. 11/17/13 Tornado Outbreak
5. 11/5/22 High Wind Event

November, of course, can also bring an occasional big dog, but that's even more rare.

i think you underestimate how many normies enjoy fall weather.

you're looking at it from the perspective of jonesing for interesting weather, where-as regulars do not care about that.
